The processing circuit may implement a redundant array of independent disks (RAID) volume using the storage devices, determine an estimated read wait time for each of the storage devices, sort the estimated read wait times into bins of a specified set of bins, and associate bin numbers with the storage devices based on the bins of their respective estimated read wait times.
