  • Patent number: 4362431
Abstract: A shaft arrangement (34) having a transversely displaceable weight member (42) relative to the shaft arrangement's longitudinal axis (B). The shaft arrangement (34) includes a housing structure (36) within compression structure (44) is arranged. The compression structure (44) extends through the housing structure (36) and connects to the displaceable weight member (42). An elastomeric member (50) is captured between the compression structure (44) and the housing structure (36) so as to resist transverse displacement of the weight member and the connected compression structure (44). The elastomeric member (50) maintains the weight member (42) and connected compression structure (44) in a rotatably balanced position relative to the longitudinal axis (B) for rotation speeds less than a predetermined amount.

  • Patent number: 4096765
Abstract: A control linkage arrangement for use in a vehicle drive. The drive includes a speed control apparatus having a movable control element for causing the speed of the drive to vary in accordance with the positioning of the control element. Manual control of the operation of the vehicle is effected by an adjustment of a manually operable speed lever which is connected to the movable control element by an improved linkage arrangement. The linkage arrangement includes a ball connector received in a guide channel for effecting rotation of a pivot member connected to the speed control means. Selective positioning of the ball connector in the guide channel effects selective movement of the pivot member in either of opposite directions of rotation and to an extent controlled by the movement of the manually operable speed lever.

  • Patent number: 4074942
Abstract: A compactor wheel comprises sets of tips each disposed in circumferential alignment therearound with the leading edge of a tip of one set being substantially aligned with the trailing edge of a tip of an adjacent set. Each tip comprises a body portion having a cross-shaped tip portion secured in upstanding relationship thereon to include a first tip portion extending circumferentially and a second tip portion extending transversely relative to the first tip portion and disposed intermediate the ends thereof. A tapered surface and concavity are formed on each lateral side of the first tip portion to dispel material outwardly therefrom during compaction of soils or the like. A plurality of circumferentially aligned blades are positioned on each lateral side of the compactor wheel.

  • Patent number: 4053868
Abstract: A monitor system for indicating the existence of one or more undesirable operating conditions of an engine-powered vehicle, and including three separate indicator panels. The first panel is energized prior to starting the engine and indicates individual prestart-condition faults, the indicators being disabled after the engine is in operation. The second panel indicates individual operating-condition faults and gives warnings of a different magnitude depending on the criticality of the faults. The third panel is for sevice faults and latches service-fault indications for general presentation to the vehicle operator and individual presentation to service personnel after the vehicle has been shut down.

  • Patent number: 3980149
Abstract: A track-type vehicle comprises a main frame having a pair of laterally spaced track roller frames pivotally mounted on either side thereof. The rearward ends of the track roller frames are pivotally mounted for vertical movements on opposite ends of an axle extending transversely therebetween. The axle is mounted on the main frame by a pair of self-aligning spherical bearing assemblies.
