  • Patent number: 6668976
Abstract: A tree stand that includes a seating section and a standing section, each including inclined attachment bars adjacent the section sides, and seating and standing section cables, each having first and second ends with handles at each of the ends. Each attachment bar has outer and inner faces with a plurality of spaced, aligned attachment holes extending between the faces, and a plurality of spaced, aligned latch holes alternating with the attachment holes. Each of the handles including a pair of flanged projections insertable into adjacent attachment holes in an attachment bar, and a latch pin insertable into a latch hole between the adjacent holes. Each projection is moveable from an insertion position to a locked position within a hole when the cable is tensioned, and is prevented by the latch pin from moving back to the insertion position when the cable is relaxed.

  • Publication number: 20020112919
Abstract: A tree stand is described that enables the user to pivot a seat to multiple positions for improved visibility and shooting. The stand is constructed of a frame that includes a rear section with a seat mount, and a front section with a platform; a multi-section ladder having an upper end attachable to a lower part of the frame; a swivel seat; and a connector arm having a first end pivotally attached to the frame and a second end pivotally attached to the seat, whereby the seat can be pivoted to various seating positions relative to the frame. The stand also includes toothed tree engagement arms with stops to align hooks from a tree-girdling cinch longitudinally behind the teeth of the arms for improved clamping.

  • Patent number: 4481001
Abstract: A skin model for use in demonstrating or practicing intradermal injection of fluids is disclosed. The model is a composite laminate of: (1) a subcutaneous tissue-simulating layer made of a foamed elastomer of low compression deflection and hardness; (2) a dermis-simulating layer of about 1 to 3 mm thick of that is substantially nonporous has a slightly greater hardness than the subcutaneous tissue-simulating layer and a penetration value in the range of 30 to 100 mm and is made of a silicone elastomer that contains reinforcing fibers, and, optionally, flesh tone pigment; and (3) in epidermis-simulating layer about 0.1 to 1 mm thick made of a high tear strength, high tensile strength elastomer. One or more of the layers may be contoured so that the surface of the model is shaped to simulate contour defects in natural skin.

  • Patent number: 4029832
Abstract: A method is disclosed for making an adhesive-coated high strength steel reinforcing member comprising the steps of: providing a steel member; austenitizing the steel member; passing the steel member through an adhesive coating bath wherein a uniform, continuous adhesive coating is applied at a rate sufficient to form a quenched structure of martensite, bainite or mixtures thereof; and, heating the coated steel member so as to effect drying and curing of the adhesive coating, and tempering of the steel member. The product obtained by this method is also disclosed.
