  • Patent number: 10091440
Abstract: A system is disclosed that includes a detector and a combination of lenses and mirrors as imaging optics configured to provide for block by block compressive sensing of an imaged scene with the block by block determined by a plurality of shift-invariant masks to produce an image of the scene of the detector. A resolution of the image through the combination of lenses and mirrors is provided at the detector greater than a resolution capability of the detector at the detector. Another system and a method are also disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 5, 2015
Date of Patent: October 2, 2018
    Assignee: LOCKHEED MARTIN CORPORATION
Inventors: Robert J. Murphy, Jr., Thomas E. Haberfelde, Abhijit Mahalanobis, Robert R. Muise
  • Patent number: 10067350
Abstract: An imaging system including a dichroic beamsplitter configured to be angled at least at a first angle and a second angle wherein when angled at the first angle imaging at a broad band wavelength spectrum and at least one of laser designation and laser ranging performed with a laser beam occurs with the dichroic beamsplitter and when angled at the second angle the imaging at the broad band wavelength spectrum and laser spot tracking performed with a laser beam occurs through the dichroic beamsplitter. Another system and method are also disclosed.

    Assignee: LOCKHEED MARTIN CORPORATION
Inventors: William H. Barrow, Thomas E. Haberfelde, James A. Fry
  • Patent number: 8587867
Abstract: A beam combining method (and concomitant apparatus) comprising, with a plurality of cascaded partially reflective surfaces, receiving images from a plurality of fields of view and combining the images into a single output optical path, and employing compressive sensing with an optical sensor receiving the combined images.

    Assignee: Lockheed Martin Corporation
Inventors: Thomas E. Haberfelde, Mark A. Neifeld
  • Patent number: 8223423
Abstract: An array of two or more tunable electro-optical reflecting elements where the phase response of one or more elements may be adjusted by a variety of approaches including, but not limited to: a liquid crystal superstrate, schottky contact(s), ultra-violet radiation pulses, and illumination of photoconductive substrates. Methods and apparatus for direct and/or adaptive control of phase response via the above approaches are also discussed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 28, 2009
Date of Patent: July 17, 2012
    Assignee: Lockheed Martin Corp.
Inventors: Thomas E Haberfelde, Edit L. Braunstein, Glenn Boreman, James Ginn, David Shelton, Gene D. Tener, Andrew H. Hawkins
