The ashless lubricant composition described herein may also comprise sulfur containing products that may work as secondary antioxidants. The hydrocarbyl dicarboxylic acid producing reaction intermediate includes from 0.5 to 10 dicarboxylic acid producing moieties per molecule of the polyolefin.
