  • Patent number: 9155926
Abstract: A drain nozzle for fire fighting including a nozzle barrel and bafflehead, a floor grating providing the bafflehead, the nozzle barrel adjustably attached by an adjustment ring to the grating, the nozzle barrel not touching the bafflehead, the grating and bafflehead directing the discharge into an appropriate pattern.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 12, 2010
Date of Patent: October 13, 2015
    Inventor: Thomas E. Mason
  • Patent number: 9072923
Abstract: An industrial floor firefighting system including a grating structured to rest over a trench and a firefighting nozzle attached to the grating, the system preferably characterized in the nozzle having an adjustable discharge gap; in the nozzle barrel being structured with the grating such that the barrel bears essentially no weight from industrial objects on or passing over the grating; in having an adjustable bafflehead/barrel combination that produces a nozzle gap upstream of the nozzle discharge orifice; and/or, as well, producing an annular gap discharge and an essentially annular nozzle discharge.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 15, 2011
Date of Patent: July 7, 2015
Inventors: Thomas E. Mason, Dwight P. Williams, Casey R. Spears
  • Patent number: 8740254
Abstract: An apparatus and method for protecting Storz fire fighting fittings from damage associated with being dropped, or dragged, or from colliding with other equipment or the like during deployment and operation, and including a bumper.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 18, 2010
Date of Patent: June 3, 2014

  • Patent number: 7909355
Abstract: A multi-purpose trailer provides further utility by being easily configurable in a carrying orientation, a drive-on loading orientation, and a storage orientation. The storage orientation is capable of near vertical storage, thus taking up very limited amounts of floor space in a garage or storage area. The drive-on loading orientation provides a ramped portion which easily accommodates the loading of wheeled vehicles without the need for additional ramp components or members. Further, mechanisms are provided to easily adjust between the various orientations including hydraulically lifting from a loading orientation to a transport orientation. To provide additional utility, provisions are made on the trailer surface for the attachment of multiple modular accessories.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 13, 2008
Date of Patent: March 22, 2011
    Assignee: United Hydraulics, LLC.
Inventors: William C. Thedford, Mickey Bowles, Thomas E. Mason
