  • Patent number: 5244015
Abstract: A pipe-end protector depending on its being used as a cap or plug comprises a metal housing with a sleeve-like, elastomer inset or a metal plug with a sleeve-like, elastomer cover. To increase the strength of the protector, the metal housing or the metal plug--which always are tubular--are provided at their outer end with a flanged or folded, preferably rolled edge. To facilitate manufacture of the protector, the inset or the cover may consist of at least two part-cylindrical mating case-components.

  • Patent number: 5195562
Abstract: A protector for the threads of a pipe-end, comprises a tubular member including a longitudinal portion and a curved end portion bent substantially 270.degree., the curved end portion including an edge disposed a distance away from the longitudinal portion; and an elastomeric sleeve disposed co-axially and substantially co-extensively relative to the tubular member. The sleeve is adapted to engage the threads of the pipe-end. The sleeve includes an end portion disposed between the edge and the longitudinal portion, the edge clamping the sleeve end portion against the longitudinal portion, thereby securing the sleeve to the tubular member. The sleeve includes a radially extending annular flange disposed outside the curved end portion for engaging an end portion of the pipe-end.

  • Patent number: 4772198
Abstract: In injection-molding threaded molded articles in the form of plastic caps and stoppers with or without imbedded reinforcing cages, an injection unit, a closing unit and an injection mold are provided, where the movable mold half is equipped with a threading part. The threading part is irrotational and integral. A rotating tool is provided, which for the condition of open injection mold can be moved between the mold halves and is operationally linked to the molded article so it can be jointly moved with it to unscrew the molded article from the threading part. Radial and axial centering pins are provided in the injection mold to center the cage.

  • Patent number: 4610362
Abstract: The invention relates to a frame for the transport and storage of pipes of profile frame parts, of which the upper and lower profile frame parts are connectable with one another by rods which can be conducted through recesses of the profile frame parts and are swingably arranged with an end provided with a transverse piece in lateral transverse bores of a profile frame part. In order to improve the support of the pipes on the frame parts and to simplify and cheapen the manufacture, the frame parts are C-profiles with retracted base part, two C-profiles arranged in one another in opposite directions, the shanks of the outer C-profile extending beyond the base of the inner C-profile, or box profiles with side wall extensions. In particular, as middle frame parts there are used double C-profiles. In the free shanks or extensions of the profiles there are formed, as supports for the tube, divided-circular recesses, which, if need be, have a flange with inner reinforcing walls which faces inward or outward.

  • Patent number: 4599778
Abstract: The invention relates to an inserting and centering device for associated screw-in pipes. Two semi-cylindrical jaws are connected in articulating manner on the cylindrical inside surfaces of which are provided an annular projection having an annular, downward shoulder to rest on the socket edge of the pipes. The jaws further comprise, at their upper end, a conical flare joining the said projection. Each jaw is equipped with one handle. the device further includes a closure mechanism to keep together the jaws when they are in the closed position wherein the jaws enclose with play the pipe socket. One handle of at least one jaw at the same time is designed to be a part of the closure mechanism.
