Patent number: 9047981Abstract: Data stored in SRAM cells are periodically flipped e.g., before long idle periods. Operating the memories in both a ‘flipped’ mode and a ‘non-flipped’ mode helps cause the Bias Temperature Instability (BTI) degradation to be symmetric, thereby not degrading the Static Noise Margin (SNM) degradation of the cells. The data stored in memory locations is flipped by reading out the data, inverting the read out data, and writing the inverted read out data into the memory locations until the memory locations of the SRAM have been read out and written. When the memory operates in flipped mode, data read from and written into the memory is inverted to maintain transparency to the memory user. After operating the data in flipped mode for a period of time, the flipped data stored in the memory is reflipped to operate in the non-flipped mode.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 2012Date of Patent: June 2, 2015Assignee: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.Inventors: Arun B. Hegde, Spencer M. Gold, Thomas E. Ryan

Patent number: 8885156Abstract: An apparatus comprises a spectrophotometer system configured to measure light absorbance by a tear sample, a refractometer system configured to measure refractive index of the tear sample, and an evaluation unit programmed to calculate an osmolarity of the tear sample based on the measured absorbance and refractive index and stored calibration curves. The spectrophotometer and refractometer systems may share a common prism contacted by the tear sample during measurement. The evaluation unit may be programmed to carry out steps of a method for determining osmolarity of the tear sample in accordance with the invention. The osmolarity of the tear sample may be used as an indicator in diagnosing dry eye.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 2010Date of Patent: November 11, 2014Assignee: Reichert, Inc.Inventors: Thomas E. Patent number: 6717663Abstract: An optical configuration for differential refractive index measurements of a test sample relative to a reference sample comprises an optical path along which an illumination beam travels to simultaneously illuminate a pair of optical interfaces on opposite sides of a meridional plane corresponding to the test sample and reference sample, respectively. Partial beams leaving the optical interfaces are optically diverged to illuminate different segments of a linear scanned array aligned in the meridional plane. The difference in location of a pair of shadowlines or a pair of resonance minimums formed by the partial beams on the array provides an indication of the refractive index difference.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 2002Date of Patent: April 6, 2004Assignee: Reichert, Inc.Inventors: Robert C. Patent number: 6707542Abstract: A refractometric apparatus and method for monitoring the percentage of water in hydraulic and non-hydraulic fluids employ a temperature sensitive device allowing a user to obtain accurate and correct readings of various measured properties. In particular, the temperature sensitive member comprises a prism-wedge-mirror combination in conjunction with a bimetallic strip. The combination ensures the proper angular displacement of a light beam inside the refractometric apparatus and, therefore, the correct reading of a parameter to be measured.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2000Date of Patent: March 16, 2004Assignee: Reichert, Inc.Inventors: Christopher T.
