    Abstract: A bed monitoring system that remotely monitors a patient bed. The bed monitoring system comprises a bed status system and a master station. The bed status system is coupled to the patient bed and is configured to monitor at least one condition of the bed, and to generate a bed message indicating the status of the monitored condition. The master station, remote from the patient bed, is operatively coupled to the bed status system to receive bed status information. The bed message can include a bed identifier, bed type identifier, patient exit detection signal, bed occupied signal, or various other status signals. The system can also include locating stations that receive the bed messages from any beds within its monitored location, and generates a station message including information from the bed messages. The master station receives the station messages and can determine the status and location of any bed.

    Abstract: A turkey trophy display device is disclosed providing a way to display a turkey fantail, beards, and spurs. The display has a bottom circular base connected to an upper stationary base by means of dowel support rods. On top of the upper stationary base is a rotating carriage. Securing holes are drilled in the upper rotating carriage so that turkey beards can be fastened to the rotating part of the display. A spring-loaded rod is also affixed between the upper and bottom stationary bases. The rod can be temporarily raised to insert it through the center of the turkey spur. Because the distance between the spring-loaded rods and the support rods is quite close, the turkey spurs remain stationary. The beards may be rotated in a 360-degree circle. An alternative, upper fan display support may also be secured to the stationary upper base. When the upper support is used, the fantail and spurs remain stationary while the beards are allowed to rotate freely.

    Abstract: A patient detection system including a plurality of sensors located adjacent the support surface and each sensor having an output signal variable in response to the change detected by the sensor. A processor monitors the output signals and provide an indication of change of position of the body relative to the support surface and to individually recalibrate each of the plurality of sensors. The automatic recalibration occurs upon sensing a substantial change due to an item being moved onto the surface. The processor may also sense changes in the support surface and recalibrate each of the sensors upon a detection of change in the support surface. The processor recalibrates all of the sensors for small changes existing for a pre-determined duration and for all large changes. The processor recalibrates all of the processors for a combination of changes in less than all of the sensors from the previous calibration for each sensor.

A control unit provides an output signal indicating the presence or absence of the patient within the detection space in response to the input signal. A booster element including a plate positioned to lie adjacent the patient-carrying surface for shaping and positioning the detection space and a connector electrically coupling the plate to the sensing element may be provided.

    Abstract: An incontinence detection device comprising a pad with a plurality of circuits. The circuit conductors are spaced on the pad, with each of the circuits defining a linear dimension across a respective pair of the circuit conductors. The linear dimension has a correlation to a predetermined liquid volume of an incontinent event desired to be detected. A controller applies voltage from a power source to and checks continuity of the spaced circuits and totals the circuits. The controller indicates to a care provider that an incontinent event has occurred at a certain minimum liquid volume.
