The controller is also configured to determine, via the motion sensor, whether the theft detection device is in motion. Further, the controller is configured to operate the emitter based on the sensed motion of the theft detection device and the light level sensed by the light sensor. The controller is further configured to deactivate the theft protection device when the light sensor detects a coded light sequence.
