Publication number: 20260011938Abstract: An automatic auditing system of cabling topologies using port occupancy patterns is provided. The system includes at least one sensor to sense occupancy of each port in a panel, a memory and a controller. The memory is used to store operating instruction and pre-defined port occupancy patterns associated with the ports in the panel. The controller is in communication with the memory and the at least one sensor. The controller is configured to compare a sensed port occupancy pattern of the ports based on sensor data from the at least one sensor and an associated pre-defined port occupancy pattern from the pre-defined port occupancy patterns stored in the memory. The controller is configured to generate a mismatch message when the sensed port occupancy pattern does not match the associated pre-defined port occupancy pattern.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 26, 2025Publication date: January 8, 2026Applicant: CommScope Technologies LLCInventors: Michael Gregory German, Matias Peluffo, Yu Zhong, Thomas Nel, Matthew Baldassano, Thomas Eastham

Patent number: 12282443Abstract: One embodiment is directed to a system comprising a portable device executing a mobile application; and a rack controller without a display unit, the rack controller comprising a base unit. The base unit includes a processor configured to execute software that directs the processor to interact with the mobile application to show information and receive user input associated with the rack controller and at least one of rack and patching equipment installed in one or more racks even if there is not a display unit coupled to the base unit. In additional embodiments, a rack controller is configured to determine whether each rack controller interface is connected to another rack controller as a function of a respective sense signal developed by the termination circuit associated with said rack controller interface. Other embodiments are disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 2022Date of Patent: April 22, 2025Assignee: CommScope Technologies LLCInventors: Matthew R. Kiener, Ryan E. Publication number: 20240381009Abstract: In one embodiment, a system for providing port occupancy management for a network connected device that includes a plurality of ports comprises: at least one port status input panel that comprises a plurality of manually operable port occupancy status selector switches, wherein each of the selector switches are associated with one or more of the ports; a control circuit coupled to the port status input panel, wherein the control circuit determines a port occupancy status for each of the ports based on signals initiated by the selector switches; a gateway coupled to the control circuit and configured to aggregate port occupancy status data for the network connected device based on the port occupancy status for each of the ports determined by the control circuit. The gateway executes at least one interface configured to provide the port occupancy status data to a remote system.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 23, 2024Publication date: November 14, 2024Applicant: CommScope Technologies LLCInventors: Malcolm Graham Brown, David Nicholas Atkinson, Thomas Eastham, Ryan E.
