Abstract: A method of processing signals in a payment transaction. At a processor, telephonic signals conveying sensitive and non-sensitive information are received. The processor detects sensitive information conveyed by the received telephonic signals and sends the sensitive information to a token service provider. The token service provider is communicatively coupled to a payment transaction entity and configured to generate surrogate information for the sensitive information. The processor receives surrogate information from the token service provider, the surrogate information having been generated by the token service provider.
