  • Patent number: 10835962
Abstract: A boring bar apparatus comprising a boring bar having at least one tool aperture formed therein. An axial translation mechanism for axially indexing the boring bar. The axial translation mechanism comprises a feed screw assembly having a threaded section, a rotational converter mechanism coupling the boring bar to the feed screw assembly for incrementally rotating the feed screw assembly, and a feed coupling having a first end engaging with the feed screw assembly and a second end engaging with the boring bar. The first end of the feed coupling having a threaded half nut section which, in a first position, engages with the feed screw assembly to facilitate axially indexing of the boring bar, and, in a second position, disengages from the feed screw assembly to facilitate moving both the feed coupling and the boring bar relative to the feed screw assembly to assist with repositioning of the boring bar.

  • Publication number: 20150056033
Abstract: A portable boring bar support system comprises first and second boring bar supports. Each boring bar support comprises a split clamping collar supported adjacent a first end of the boring bar support. The split clamping collar defines a clamping bore and facilitates releasable clamping attachment of a desired component thereto. A lug and fastener assembly of the split clamping collar controls a clamping motion of the split clamping collar. A mounting plate is supported adjacent a second opposite end of the boring bar support and a curvilinear section couples and integrally interconnects the split clamping collar with the mounting plate in an offset manner with respect to one another. The mounting plate has an opening therein which facilitates attachment of the boring bar support to a desired surface. The boring bar support system may be used with a spider support which has an integral split spider clamping collar.

  • Patent number: 6621035
Abstract: A welding device that facilitates depositing of a welding bead on a surface to be built-up. The welding device includes a housing accommodating a rotatable spindle therein, a drive mechanism coupled to the spindle to facilitate rotation thereof, and a second rider circumscribing the spindle and supporting a second gripper member. The second gripper member surrounds the spindle and allows the second rider to move axially with respect to the spindle in one direction but prevents axial movement of the second rider with respect to the spindle in an opposite direction. A first rider also circumscribes the spindle and is located between the driven mechanism and the second rider. The first rider supports a first gripper member that surrounds the spindle and allows the spindle to move axially with respect to the first gripper member in one direction but prevents axial movement of the spindle with respect to the first gripper member in an opposite direction.
