  • Publication number: 20220087940
Abstract: A dosage form contains a polymeric matrix, containing one or more polymer(s) and a biologically active ingredient. The polymeric matrix contains 10% by weight or more of the one or more polymer(s). The one or more polymer(s) are polymerized from a monomer mixture containing the monomers (a) 70 to 95% by weight of 2-ethylhexyl methacrylate (EHMA) and ethyl methacrylate (EMA), or 2-ethylhexyl methacrylate (EHMA) and methyl methacrylate (MMA); (b) 0 to 25% by weight of a C2 to C6 hydroxy-alkylester of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid; and (c) 2.5 to 20% by weight of a C2 to C8 alkyl ester of acrylic acid or of methacrylic acid with a quaternary cationic group in the alkyl group.

  • Publication number: 20210007995
Abstract: A polymer mixture includes 10 to 90 wt. % of polymer 1 and 10 to 90 wt. % of polymer 2, the total being 100 wt. %. Polymer 1 is polymerized from (a1) 70-95 wt. % of C1-C12 alkylester of (meth)acrylic acid, and (b1) 5-30% wt. % of C2-C8 alkyl ester of (meth)acrylic acid with a quaternary cationic group in the alkyl group. Polymer 2 is polymerized from (a2) 70-95 wt. % of C1-C12 alkylester of (meth)acrylic acid, and (c2) 5-30 wt. % of C2-C6 hydroxy-alkylester of (meth)acrylic acid. Monomers (a1) and (b1) add up to 98-100 wt. %, and most preferred to 100 wt. %. Monomers (a2) and (c2) add up to 98-100 wt. %, most preferred to 100 wt %.

The polymer is useful for preparing a dosage form with a sustained release profile and resistance against the influence of ethanol.

  • Patent number: 10494495
Abstract: The invention concerns specifically emulsion polymers which are intraparticulately crosslinked via a hetero-Diels-Alder (HDA) mechanism. The crosslinked polymers can then be wholly or partly decrosslinked by thermal processing, for example in the form of a composite matrix, via a retro-Diels-Alder or retro-hetero-Diels-Alder reaction and interparticulately recrosslinked on cooling. This makes it possible to prepare long shelf life prepregs for composites. But it is also possible to thus realize other materials that have thermoset properties at use temperature but thermoplastic processing properties at a higher temperature.

  • Patent number: 6063914
Abstract: The aging of swellable starch maleates is reduced by reacting with one or more singly and/or multiply functional nucleophiles as in a Michael condensation reaction. Mixtures of mercaptoethanol and 1,2-bis-(2-mercaptoethoxy)-ethane or mixtures of sodium bisulfite and pentaerythrite-tetrakis-(2-mercaptoacetate) are preferred. The decrease of the retention capacity [SRV] in the reaction products after 100 days is preferably <10%. The products find use as biodegradable, non-aging superabsorbers.
