  • Publication number: 20240379255
Abstract: A target well of a target delivery assembly for use in an irradiation system operative to allow irradiation of a radioisotope target via a vessel penetration of a fission reactor. The target well includes an outer tube and an inner tube disposed therein so that an annulus is formed therebetween. The target is positioned in the inner tube during irradiation. At least one flow channel extends between a bottom end of the outer tube and a bottom end of the inner tube. • Publication number: 20210215749
Abstract: An event-recording circuit for recording electrical events experienced by an internal circuit in a semiconductor device is disclosed. The event-recording circuit is coupled to the internal circuit via a spark gap circuit. The spark gap circuit includes one or more encapsulated air-gap structures that are fabricated using a process flow that matches, or is adapted from, a process flow used in fabricating the semiconductor device. The event-recording circuit further includes a recording device that has an electrical property that is changed by a signal passed by the spark gap circuit, such as an ESD or EOS signal. Accordingly, a test may be performed to determine the presence, and in some cases the extent, of the change to the electrical property in a failure analysis of the semiconductor device.

  • Patent number: 8696473
Abstract: A resettable torque limiter for installation between two rotary members, which can smoothly disengage upon application of predetermined torque acting between the members and smoothly reset upon decline of applied torque below the predetermined level. An undulating engagement surface formed on one member according to a function preferably an eighth power polynomial is engaged by a plurality of engagement elements on the other member which smoothly ride over lobes formed on the engagement surface when the torque limit is exceeded without causing any discontinuities in acceleration or jerk when the driving connection between the rotary members is interrupted until the applied torque declines below the preset limit.

  • Patent number: 6573523
Abstract: A system for identifying a substrate based on indicia formed in a surface of the substrate. The method includes forming the indicia having edge features and substantially flat features. The indicia is illuminated with incident illumination from an illumination source while moving the illumination source relative to the substrate, thereby scanning the incident illumination over the indicia. Reflected illumination having a first intensity level is received from the edge features of the indicia, and reflected illumination having a second intensity level is received from the substantially flat features of the indicia. The reflected illumination is detected to produce at least one output signal having a first amplitude level corresponding to the first intensity level and a second amplitude level corresponding to the second intensity level. The output signal is processed based at least in part upon the first and second intensity levels to form at least one image portion of the indicia.

  • Patent number: 5064037
Abstract: A one way acting sprag clutch is disclosed of the type automatically disengaging the sprags from an outer raceway at a predetermined rotative speed of the inner raceway to reduce wear during overrunning, in which the sprags are of an upright shape and are formed with a rocker portion having asymmetric rocker lip portions creating an unbalanced mass. The unbalanced mass causes increased tilting movements of the sprags overcoming the energizing force of the springs at the predetermined rotative speed of the inner raceway and liftoff of the outer end of the sprags from the outer raceway. The upright shape allows a complete complement of sprags to be employed to achieve high torque capacity. The rocker lip portions have abutment surfaces facing the adjacent sprags, which surfaces move into abutment when the sprags move to an overloaded wedging condition to provide an antirollover feature.

  • Patent number: 4500886
Abstract: A data link for an automatic aircraft carrier landing system is described which an aircraft is guided to the carrier by pitch and bank information from the carrier so as to indicate to the pilot of the aircraft whether he is within a prescribed flight path for landing or whether he should be waved off for another approach. The information transmitted from the carrier is received by a microelectronic data link receiver having an internal clock which is synchronized with the incoming information to determine if that particular aircraft is being addressed and if so, what the nature of this information is so that it may be stored and presented to the pilot at a later time for appropriate action.

  • Patent number: 4451949
Abstract: A safety shoe having a closed bottom lining is assembled by a method in which a slip last is inserted into a closed bottom lining and a net-fit upper portion is attached to the lining. The forepart of the upper portion is lasted to the lining after a steel toe sub-assembly is fastened to the lining toe portion. An outsole and heel portion are attached to the bottom surface of the upper after the upper and lining are lasted.

  • Patent number: 4450943
Abstract: A low drag air clutch for use in power transmission systems includes a rotating housing containing a clutch plate, a pair of spaced apart friction disks disposed on opposite faces of the clutch plate and a pneumatic operator assembly. One of the friction disks is fixedly retained in the housing. The other is coupled to the housing through arrays of helical splines which permit limited axial and rotational movement. The pneumatic operator assembly is disposed adjacent, engages and axially translates the movable friction disk. The clutch plate is coupled to a shaft member through arrays of helical splines. Activation of the pneumatic assembly engages the clutch elements. When deactivated, the rotation of the clutch elements and contact therebetween causes the helical spline arrays to urge the clutch plate and friction disks apart in order to eliminate partial mechanical coupling, i.e., drag, through the clutch.
