Patent number: 12268913Abstract: An exercise weight for strengthening muscles. The exercise weight includes a body having a holding portion that extends between a first distal region and second distal region thereof. The holding portion forms a continuous surface that is curved such that a diameter of the holding portion is narrowest at a proximal point of the holding portion and widest at a first radial edge and an opposing second radial edge. The first and second distal regions are each dome shaped and extend from the first radial edge and the second radial edge, respectively. The holding portion can be received between the inner thighs of a user to add resistance when performing various exercises, such as leg lifts, planks, pull-ups, dips, and the like. In some embodiments, the body includes a weight receiving channel extending therethrough, wherein an elongated weight is positioned within the weight receiving channel.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 2023Date of Patent: April 8, 2025Inventors: Thomas Fanning, Michael Joson

Patent number: 11482835Abstract: Methods, devices and systems are described for enabling a series-connected, single chip vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) array. In one aspect, the single chip includes one or more non-conductive regions one the conductive layer to produce a plurality of electrically separate conductive regions. Each electrically separate region may have a plurality of VCSEL elements, including an anode region and a cathode region connected in series. The chip is connected to a sub-mount with a metallization pattern, which connects each electrically separate region on the conductive layer in series. In one aspect, the metallization pattern connects the anode region of a first electrically separate region to the cathode region of a second electrically separate region. The metallization pattern may also comprise cuts that maintain electrical separation between the anode and cathode regions on each conductive layer region, and that align with the etched regions.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2020Date of Patent: October 25, 2022Assignee: Lumentum Operations LLCInventors: Richard F. Publication number: 20140089921Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to a method and system for managing a virtual machine disk. According to embodiments of the present invention, thin provisioning and thick provisioning are integrated to form a hybrid virtual machine disk management mechanism. Specifically, for a thin provisioned VM disk, if it is determined that the load level of the disk is relatively high, it may be decided to switch the VM disk to be thick provisioned. On the contrary, for a thick provisioned VM disk, if it is determined that a load level of the disk is relatively low, it may be decided to switch the VM disk to be thin provisioned so as to avoid resource waste. In this way, the efficiency and flexibility of the management of virtual machine storage disks may be improved.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 28, 2013Publication date: March 27, 2014Inventors: Ziye Yang, Haifeng Fang, Chenhui Thomas Fan, Roby Qiyan Chen

Patent number: 8447039Abstract: In one embodiment, group member devices may be divided into at least one cluster, wherein each cluster includes a primary key server designated to synchronize with a master key server. Each cluster further includes at least one registration server configured to communicate with member devices in the group within the cluster and to synchronize with the primary key server.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2007Date of Patent: May 21, 2013Assignee: Cisco Technology, Inc.Inventors: Mohamed Khalid, Rajiv Asati, Scott Thomas Fanning, Haseeb Niazi, Kavitha Kamarthy, Sheela Rowles

Patent number: 8165023Abstract: One embodiment provides a method to interconnect virtual network segments (VNETs) defined for a local-area network (LAN) infrastructure separated by a wide-area network infrastructure. The technique involves the routing device at the LAN-WAN interconnection points to impose or dispose the VNET-shim, which encodes the VNET-id information in a Layer 4 portion of the packet. In a data plane, a new IP protocol value may be used to signify the presence of the VNET-shim followed by cryptography specific information in an IP packet. In a control plane, the routing protocol is expanded to exchange the routing information along with the VNET information.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 2007Date of Patent: April 24, 2012Assignee: CISCO TECHNOLOGY, Inc.Inventors: Mohamed Khalid, Khalil Jabr, Rajiv Asati, Warren Scott Wainner, Scott Thomas Fanning
