Abstract: A remote-control system for locks having an infrared hand-held transmitter of the remote-control system, which is used for the remote-control of the central locking system of a motor vehicle, and a receptacle for the insertion of the transmitter arranged in the motor vehicle. At least one optical cable, leading into the region of the receptacle for carrying signals from the transmitter, is routed from the receptacle to at least one exit hole arranged on the outer skin of the motor vehicle. In this way, the control of a receiver arranged outside the motor vehicle and associated preferably with a remote-controlled garage door drive is made possible.
