  • Patent number: 8302314
Abstract: In a method for manufacturing internally and/or externally profiled rings from pipe material or solid material, machine-cutting processes and forming processes are combined with one another sequentially, parallel, or sequentially and parallel, wherein one of the forming processes is roll forming. During roll forming a counterforce is generated relative to a flow direction of the starting material so that a material flow in at least one of an axial direction and a radial direction of the starting material is controlled such that flowing material is integrated into a profile to be shaped on the ring.

  • Patent number: 8161620
Abstract: In a cold rolling method for producing annular composite workpieces, at least two hollow cylindrical workpieces made of different materials are inserted into one another. The at least two hollow cylindrical workpieces are roll formed by pressing the at least two hollow cylindrical workpieces against each other between two diametrically opposed external roll forming tools and an internal rolling arbor or between two diametrically opposed external roll forming tools and an internal roll forming tool to form a composite workpiece. The composite workpiece is a bearing ring or a gear ring. One of the hollow cylindrical workpieces can be a nonferrous material such as aluminum.

  • Publication number: 20090056400
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for transversely rolling stepped hollow shafts or cylindrical hollow parts from a pipe. The invention achieves the object of rolling stepped hollow shafts of the most varied dimensions and also of greater lengths in a flexible manner from a pipe using a small number of simple tools. In accordance with the invention, the object is achieved by virtue of the fact that rolling tools which can be radially advanced and are disposed in a planet-like manner around the workpiece are used to roll the contour of the transition from a central diameter in one portion of the workpiece to the central diameter in the adjacent portion by means of co-ordinated control of the radial advance of the rolling tools and the axial feed of the workpiece, and a mandrel head having an outer diameter which is adapted to the smallest inner diameter of the two portions is disposed underneath the rolling tools.
