  • Publication number: 20150071764
Abstract: A turbocompound bearing for attaching a turbocompound system to an internal combustion engine comprises an exhaust gas turbine having a turbine shaft mounted in a turbine bearing housing, a hydrodynamic clutch having a clutch shaft mounted in a clutch bearing housing, and having a connector for attachment of the internal combustion engine. The invention is characterized in that the connector is formed by a plate-shaped base support which has at least one first centering surface on which the clutch bearing housing is oriented, and the plate-shaped base support and/or the clutch bearing housing has at least one second centering surface on which the turbine bearing housing is oriented.

  • Patent number: 8740746
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling the power transmission in a drive train, in particular of a motor vehicle, wherein the drive train comprises: an internal combustion engine which drives an output shaft at an engine speed and generates an exhaust gas stream; an exhaust gas turbine which is arranged in the exhaust gas stream and is engaged in or can be switched to a drive connection with the output shaft in order to transmit the drive power of the exhaust gas turbine to the output shaft; a compressor which is arranged in a fresh air stream supplied to the internal combustion engine and which is engaged in and driven by a drive connection with the exhaust gas turbine in order to charge the internal combustion engine at a predefined charging pressure; a power-controlled hydrodynamic clutch, which is arranged in the drive connection between the exhaust gas turbine and the output shaft and by means of which drive power of the exhaust gas turbine is transmitted to the output shaft depending on the p

  • Publication number: 20140116043
Abstract: A drive train having an internal combustion engine which includes an output shaft feeding drive power into the drive train. A first turbo charger includes a first exhaust-gas turbine arranged in an exhaust-gas flow and mounted rotatably in a turbine housing that drives a first fresh-air compressor via a first turbine shaft. A turbo-compound system includes a power turbine arranged in the exhaust-gas flow and can be drive connected via a power turbine shaft to the output shaft, with the power turbine shaft mounted rotatably in a power turbine housing and extending parallel to the turbine shaft. The turbine housing and power turbine housing can be supported in or on or integrated into a transmission housing. The first turbocharger is arranged radially outside the turbo-compound system. The first turbocharger and turbo-compound system are arranged on a common side or on different and adjoining or opposite sides of the transmission housing.

  • Publication number: 20120297770
Abstract: The invention concerns an exhaust-gas power-recovery turbine for a turbo compound system, in particular of a motor vehicle, including: a turbine shaft, which at the first end thereof or in the area of the first end carries a rotor to be impinged by the exhaust gas flow of an internal combustion engine, in order to convert exhaust gas energy into drive power; and which at the second end thereof carries a pinion, which is designed to be brought into a driving connection with the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine, in order to transmit the drive power to the crankshaft. The invention is characterised in that that the turbine shaft is supported in the area of the rotor by means of a radial plain bearing and in the area of the pinion by means of a radial rolling-element bearing.
