  • Publication number: 20100305232
Abstract: The subject of the invention is a process for producing polyamide, copolyamide, polyolefin, copolyester amide or fluorocarbon resin powder particles on to the surface of which has been grafted at least one functionalized grafting monomer, characterized in that it comprises: a) a step of blending the polyamide or copolyamide powder particles with the functionalized grafting monomer; followed by b) a step of irradiating the powder impregnated with functionalized grafting monomer resulting from a) with photons (?-radiation) or electrons (?-radiation), with a dose ranging from 0.5 to 15 Mrad. The invention also relates to the particles grafted in this way and to the compositions containing such particles.

  • Publication number: 20100183837
Abstract: The invention relates to the use of a composition that contains from 70 to 91 wt % of at least one semi-crystalline polyamide, from 5 to 25 wt % of a polyolefin having an epoxy, anhydride or acid function introduced by grafting or copolymerization, and from 4 to 20 wt % of a plasticizer in the production of flexible pipes used in the exploitation of crude oil or gas deposits under the sea that comprises at least one layer obtained from such a composition.

  • Publication number: 20100137516
Abstract: The invention relates to a composition based on an impact-resistant polyamide thermoplastic resin, comprising, as a blend: from 60 to 98% by weight of polyamide resin (A) and from 2 to 40% by weight of a blend of at least one polyamide-block graft copolymer (B) composed of a polyolefin backbone and of at least one polyamide graft in which the grafts are attached to the backbone by the residues of an unsaturated monomer (X) having a functional group capable of reacting with an amine-terminated polyamide, the residues of the unsaturated monomer (X) being attached to the backbone by grafting or copolymerization via its double bond, and of a non-reactive ethylenic polymer (C) that is miscible with (B) and has a density of less than 0.960 g/cm3. This composition has improved impact resistance properties and also satisfactory melt flow. The invention also relates to the method of obtaining said composition and also to its use for manufacturing products or parts obtained by injection moulding or extrusion.

  • Publication number: 20100113677
Abstract: The present invention relates to a composite having improved impact resistance. According to the invention, this composite is obtained from a composition comprising the following polymers: polylactic acid (PLA) which forms the matrix; at least one polyamide forming a dispersed phase within the PLA matrix; at least one functionalized polyolefin (A) comprising alpha-olefin units and epoxy, carboxylic acid or carboxylic acid anhydride units; and, optionally, at least one unfunctionnalized polyolefin (B).

  • Publication number: 20100112357
Abstract: The present invention relates to a polylactic acid with improved impact strength, comprising, by weight: 60% to 97% of polylactic acid (PLA), and 3% to 40% of a mixture of compounds A and B in which: A is a copolymer of ethylene and of an unsaturated monomer bearing at least one epoxide or carboxylic acid or carboxylic acid anhydride function, and optionally of alkyl (meth)acrylate, B is a copolymer of ethylene and of alkyl (meth)acrylate, said mixture having a weight % (A)/weight % (A+B) ratio of between 0.10 and 0.49. The present invention also relates to the manufacture of components or objects from these compositions.
