Patent number: 6463598Abstract: An accessory for a bathtub has a tubular conduit that is placed around the rim of a bathtub and connected to the faucet. The conduit has outlets at locations along its length. When the faucet is turned on, fresh water is conveyed through the conduit to the outlets where the water leaves the conduit and enters the tub by washing down the sides of the tub in the manner of a waterfall. The conduit is non-metallic and supported by plastic or rubber elements. It can be conveniently installed and removed.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 2001Date of Patent: October 15, 2002Inventors: Victor B. David, Thomas Flowers

Patent number: 4644621Abstract: An improved high speed process for texturing continuous filament yarn is provided wherein the improvement comprises cooling the yarn, subsequent to texturing and prior to applying tension, by contact for at least 4 milliseconds with a curved surface at a temperature of -29.degree. to 2.degree. C. and an RMS of up to 10, frictional forces creating a yarn tension of 0.036 to 0.45 gram per denier per end at the surface. Apparatus is also provided for cooling the continuous filament yarn subsequent to texturing and prior to applying tension. The apparatus comprises a curved surface having a minimum length for yarn contact of 7.6 cm, an RMS of up to 10 and a temperature of -29.degree. to 2.degree. C. Textured yarn brought into contact with the surface for at least 4 milliseconds at a yarn tension of 0.036 to 0.045 gram per denier per end is cooled to increase yarn stability and prevent pullout of yarn texture.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 1983Date of Patent: February 24, 1987Assignee: Allied CorporationInventors: Samuel L. Yates, Frank L. Peckinpaugh, Thomas A. Flower, Michael K. Westmoreland

Patent number: 4618124Abstract: Method for installing conduit in a confined wall space are disclosed. A tape is introduced into the confined space behind the wall and is extended to an outlet point by moving a tool along the exterior wall surface. The tool has an electromagnet which attracts a metal roller on the end of the tape, drawing the roller against the interior wall surface. The tool has rollers, or wheels, allowing it to roll on the exterior wall surface, and hence the extension of the tape is by means of combined roller action on both surfaces of the wall. At the outlet, conduit is attached to the tape and is pulled into the confined space by retracting the tape. Retraction of the tape may be accomplished by a drum onto which the tape is wound.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 1985Date of Patent: October 21, 1986Inventor: Thomas Flowers

Patent number: 4454187Abstract: A composite laminate material and a process for making the same are provided, the process comprising the steps of providing an unbonded fibrous batt of desired thickness having a thermosetting binder material dispersed therethrough, applying a layer of desired thickness of a curable latex to at least one side of the fibrous batt, drying the layer to a predetermined moisture level to provide a dried composite material, and heating and compression molding the dried composite material to simultaneously mold the composite, cure the layer and cure the binder material by embossing a pattern into the exposed side of the layer before the layer and the binder material are cured to cause the layer to be contoured with the pattern substantially throughout the thickness thereof and thereby cause the pattern to be substantially impressed into one side of the batt so that the resulting embossed and cured layer has a substantially uniform thickness and the one side of the cured batt substantially conforms to the embossed coType: GrantFiled: June 22, 1983Date of Patent: June 12, 1984Assignee: Allen Industries, Inc.Inventors: Thomas A. Patent number: 4419032Abstract: An improved boring tool comprising a generally elongated housing member, an angle drive mechanism providing rotation about an axis at right angles to the housing member, and a unique floating boring bit which is slidably mounted upon the angle drive mechanism for axial movement along the axis of rotation. The boring bit features a central lead screw for drawing the bit axially into and through the workpiece over which the boring bit is placed as permitted by the floating mounting. A telescoping wall structure of the boring bit permits the bit to continue extending axially to complete penetration of the workpiece. An integral power source may be provided or provision made for the attachment of a portable electric drill or other readily available external power source. The cutting head of the boring bit may be removably mounted to facilitate replacement of worn cutting surfaces and to permit substitution of boring bits of different sizes for boring holes of different diameters.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 1981Date of Patent: December 6, 1983Inventor: Thomas Flowers

Patent number: 4131664Abstract: An improved acoustical and trim acoustical panel suitable for use in the interior passenger compartments and exterior components of automotive vehicles or the like, comprising a plurality of fibrous layers of controlled different density, integrally united together at their interfaces and optionally provided with a decorative finish on one or both outer face surfaces thereof. The invention is further directed to novel methods for making such trim panels incorporating preselected contours and localized embossments therein to conform to the contour of the structural panels of vehicle bodies over which the trim panels are adapted to be mounted. In accordance with one process embodiment, a fibrous pad is formed incorporating suitable binding agents and a coextensive impervious membrane or film disposed intermediate of the face surfaces thereof.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 1977Date of Patent: December 26, 1978Assignee: Allen Industries, Inc.Inventors: Thomas A.
