  • Publication number: 20060225450
Abstract: A method and system determine when a climate control system of a hybrid vehicle can be operated without use of its A/C compressor. The compressor is turned on to function when the compressor is coupled to an engine of the vehicle and the engine is running. The relative humidity inside the vehicle cabin is compared to a threshold to determine whether the compressor is required to function. If the engine is running and if the compressor is off, the compressor is turned on if the compressor is required to function. If the engine is running, the engine is turned off such that the compressor is turned off if the compressor is not required to function and if the vehicle is at idle. If the compressor was on, the compressor is turned off without turning off the engine if the compressor is not required and if the vehicle is being driven.

  • Publication number: 20060160271
Abstract: The semiconductor module is provided that includes a semiconductor housing and a plurality of integrated circuit dice positioned within the housing. The semiconductor module also includes a programmable memory device positioned within the housing and electrically coupled to the plurality of integrated circuit dice. The programmable memory device is programmable to identify the integrated circuit dice that meet a predetermined standard, such as an operating frequency requirement, or a core timing grade. Further, a method is provided for accessing a semiconductor module. The above mentioned housing is provided to enclose the plurality of integrated circuit dice and the programmable memory device. The integrated circuit dice of the plurality of integrated circuit dice that meet a predetermined standard are then identified. The programmable memory device is subsequently programmed to identify the selected integrated circuit dice.

  • Publication number: 20060123759
Abstract: A forage conditioner for conditioning cut crop material from a forage harvester includes a fixed bottom fluted roller carried in end housings and a top fluted roller which is pivotally mounted on the housings by a linkage pivotal relative to the housing about an axis lying in a plane at right angles to the roller axes so that the top roller is liftable from crushing position against the bias of a spring extending along the top roller. Rotation of the bottom roller is transferred to the top roller through a gear train which includes two idler gears each mounted on a respective arm with the arms constrained to move symmetrically relative to the rollers by intermeshing teeth on the arms so as to control the angular timing of the rollers to ensure accurate intermeshing of the flutes.

  • Publication number: 20060121068
Abstract: A low viscosity filler boron nitride agglomerate particles having a generally spherical shape bound together by an organic binder and to a process for producing a BN powder composition of spherically shaped boron nitride agglomerated particles having a treated surface layer which controls its viscosity. In one embodiment, the composition of spherically shaped boron nitride agglomerated particles are further heat-treated for the binder to decompose, forming a coating layer on the spherical BN agglomerates and significantly improving its thermal conductivity property.

  • Publication number: 20060117775
Abstract: A method and system determines when a climate control system of a hybrid vehicle can be operated without the use of an A/C compressor. The method and system make this determination by determining whether the vehicle is at idle or is being driven and determining whether or not the A/C compressor is required to function to maintain air conditioning comfort in the vehicle. The A/C compressor couples to an engine of the vehicle when the engine is on in order to function. The method and system turn off the engine and thereby turn off the A/C compressor if the A/C compressor is not required to function and if the vehicle is at idle. The method and system turn off the A/C compressor without turning off the engine if the A/C compressor is not required to function and if the vehicle is being driven.

  • Publication number: 20060050077
Abstract: A fully programmable graphics processing engine is provided. The graphics processing engine includes three independent, programmable processors that run independent sets of instructions from independent instruction storage facilities. Graphics processing tasks may be distributed among the serially pipelined processors to allow for load balancing and parallel processing. The graphics processing engine may be a graphics co-processing core within a larger, general purpose computing system. Register files and storage units may be addressable by the system host processor. Each processor accepts incoming data for state or context updates. Each processor may execute a specific graphics processing function by executing a set of instructions when a predetermined memory address is accessed.

  • Publication number: 20060031719
Abstract: A method and system for ordering and aggregating log streams. Log streams for events from different sources are received. If different sources have different recording cycles, or time epochs, that lead to different temporal granularities, then all of the log streams are combined into a single time epoch that is equal to the longest time epoch. Log streams from sources having shorter time epochs continue to retain information about their original time epochs, in order to retain information about the order of the events in those log streams. The log streams are re-ordered, both before and after being integrated into the aggregate log, by acquiring additional data from the different sources, thus permitting the likely cause/effect relationship between events.

  • Publication number: 20060010344
Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product for reporting and recovering from an internal processor error in a multiprocessor system supporting system management mode. In accordance with the method of the present invention one or more replacement agents are allocated such as during system startup within the multiprocessor system. Machine specific error-reporting registers are monitored for one or more active processor agents during system operation. In response to detecting a faulty agent via the monitoring, a system management interrupt (SMI) request is issued to one or both the faulty agent and a selected replacement agent. In response to receiving the SMI request, the operating state of the faulty agent is copied to the selected replacement agent in system management mode. Operating system processing is then resumed using the replacement agent.

  • Patent number: 6950717
Abstract: A system for controlling the width and stitch density of a moving fabric web compacted by a fabric compaction system. The width control subsystem comprises a first camera which captures an image of a moving fabric web, and a first controller, wherein the first controller receives the captured image, calculates the width of the fabric web, and compares the calculated width to a first width set point. The stitch count control subsystem comprises a second camera that captures an image of a moving fabric web, and a second controller, wherein the second controller receives the captured image, calculates the stitch count of the fabric web, and compares the calculated stitch count to a first stitch count set point.

  • Publication number: 20050172164
Abstract: A method and system for dynamically replacing a failing processor in a server system configured with IA-32 architecture without requiring hardware changes to the IA-32 architecture or administrative effort. At least one processor of the multiprocessor system (MP) is initially provided as a reserve (or hot-spare) processor that remains in an idle, off, or low-power mode. While in that mode, the OS is prevented from initially utilizing the hot-spare processor. When a processor failure is detected, SMI code running on a good processor instructs the OS to hold off allocating processes to the failing processor. Contemporaneously, the SMI (and OS) activates and completes an initialization of the hot-spare processor to prepare it to begin receiving the held-off processes. Control is then returned to the OS, which updates the “active” processor list and allocates the threads that were running on the failing processor to the hot-spare processor.
