  • Publication number: 20210169272
Abstract: The disclosed grill resists flare-ups by catching drippings from the food in channels or trenches attached to grill elements that are easy to clean as the ends are left open. The grill elements are slanted so that there are spaces for heated air from below the grill to flow to the top of the grill, but viewed from the top these spaces cannot be seen. In one embodiment, the grill is tilted so that drippings flow towards one side of the grill, away from the heating elements below the food. Optionally, the grill elements may be detachably attached to the supporting rails for easier cleaning.

  • Publication number: 20160312676
Abstract: A method and apparatus to reduce emissions by gas membrane separation and liquid carrier chemical absorption. The membrane separation system consists of an absorption system containing ceramic membranes through which is circulated an absorbent carrier. Exhaust gases contact the exterior surface of the membranes and the target gasses permeate the membrane wall and are absorbed by the carrier(s) within the bore and thereby are removed from the exhaust stream. Various exemplary embodiments are described for systems to regenerate the carrier, and systems designed to remove SO2 from the exhaust. One option uses an electrostatic charger to place a charge on the gas particles, while another uses a corona generator. In this aspect, the invention is also an improved electrostatic and corona separator, that uses a carrier liquid separated from the gas stream by a membrane to bear away undesirable particles instead of a deposit or collection plate or collection bag or similar device.

  • Publication number: 20150375169
Abstract: Various exemplary embodiments relate to a method and apparatus to reduce emissions of target emission gasses such as sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides, and carbon oxides from combustion exhaust such as marine engine exhaust by gas membrane separation and liquid carrier chemical absorption. The membrane separation system consists of an absorption system containing semi-permeable hollow fiber membranes through which is circulated a liquid absorbent. Exhaust gases contact the exterior surface of the membranes and the target gasses selectively permeate the membrane wall and are absorbed by the liquid carrier(s) within the bore and thereby are removed from the exhaust stream.

  • Publication number: 20100026018
Abstract: A lock knob for covering an end of a lock rod protruding through a door of a motor vehicle is disclosed herein. The lock knob includes a first knob portion. The lock knob also includes a second knob portion. The lock knob also includes a multi-stage locking structure operable to engage the first knob portion and the second knob portion together in a first configuration. When the first and second knob portions are in the first configuration, the end of the lock rod can be slidably received between the first knob portion and the second knob portion. The multi-stage locking structure is also operable to engage the first knob portion and the second knob portion together in a second configuration. When the first and second knob portions are in the second configuration, the lock rod is fixed relative to the first knob portion and to the second knob portion.

  • Publication number: 20090036046
Abstract: An air duct outlet includes a housing that defines an air passageway with an inlet and outlet, and a porous layer of material that overlies the air passageway outlet and hides the air duct outlet from view. The porous layer of material is configured to soften and diffuse an air stream flowing through the air passageway outlet and/or to cause an air stream flowing through the air passageway outlet to be directed in one or more directions.

  • Patent number: 7455581
Abstract: An air duct outlet includes a housing having a front wall with an opening therein through which air flows. A louver assembly is operably coupled with the housing and includes a first set of louvers pivotally secured within the housing, and a second set of louvers pivotally secured within the housing. A joystick is remotely positioned relative to the front wall opening away from the front wall opening. The joystick is operably coupled with the first and second sets of louvers and is configured to pivot the first and second sets of louvers in response to user movement thereof. The joystick is connected to the first set of louvers via a shaft and is connected to the second set of louvers via multiple interconnected linkages. The linkages are configured to allow the joystick to move the first set of louvers without moving the second set of louvers.

  • Patent number: 6059653
Abstract: An air outlet assembly includes a housing secured to a structure. A plurality of air directional fins, i.e., louvers or vanes, extend through the housing. The housing includes a plurality of receiving apertures. The receiving apertures receive bosses of the louvers therein. The receiving apertures define a boss surface and a spring surface. The boss surface has a radius of curvature equal to that of the boss being inserted. The spring surface has a radius of curvature greater than that of the boss being inserted. Two extensions are cut away on either side of both the boss surface and the spring surface to define the amount of effort required to rotate the boss when it is inserted into the receiving aperture. An opening is cut away adjacent the receiving aperture to further control the resilience of the spring surface as it abuts the boss inserted into the receiving aperture.
