  • Patent number: 10418993
Abstract: An operating device, in particular for electronic household appliances, includes a cover plate with an operating portion, a transmitter for emitting electromagnetic radiation, a receiver for registering electromagnetic radiation, and control electronics for evaluating measurement signals produced by the receiver. The operating portion is at least partly elastically deformable and/or movable by an action of force from the direction of a user side of the cover plate and it at least partly reflects the radiation emitted by the transmitter. The receiver is disposed and/or configured in such a way that it facilitates a spatially resolved registration of the radiation reflected by the operating portion in such a way that the control electronics can detect an actuation of the operating portion in a manner dependent on a registration location of the reflected radiation. An electronic household appliance having at least one operating device is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20170162037
Abstract: An operator control apparatus for an electronic device, in particular an electronic domestic appliance, includes an operator control unit detection device for detecting a mobile operator control unit in the vicinity of the operator control apparatus. The detection device has a communication interface for a radio connection with the mobile operator control unit, and a gesture detection device for detecting gestures performed by the mobile operator control unit. A control device of the operator control apparatus, which is connected to the detection device and the gesture detection device, controls the electronic device as a function of the gestures of the mobile operator control unit detected by the gesture detection device, after the mobile operator control unit has been detected in the vicinity of the operator control apparatus by the detection device. An electronic domestic appliance, a mobile operator control unit and a system are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20140076723
Abstract: An electrolysis cell for the production of aluminum has a liquid aluminum layer on a cathode, a melt layer on the liquid aluminum, and an anode above the melt layer. An upper side of the cathode has surface profiling with two or more elevations provided at at least two of the twenty points of the surface of the upper side of the cathode vertically beneath those regions of the boundary surface between the layer of liquid aluminum and the melt layer in which peaks with the twenty highest maxima are present in the distribution of a reference wave formation potential in the boundary surface. The reference wave formation potential is defined as the wave formation potential which, when the electrolysis cell is operated with a reference cathode without surface profiling is present at a point in the boundary surface between the layer of liquid aluminum and the melt layer.

  • Patent number: 8101880
Abstract: An operator control panel for a domestic appliance includes a panel body having an operator control face facing a user and a rear face facing away from the operator control face. A sensor element of an electrically conductive material forms a capacitive sensor area together with the panel body. A conversion electronics system converts capacitance values generated in the sensor area into digital signals. The conversion electronics system is electrically conductively connected to the sensor element and is disposed on the rear face of the panel body. The sensor element and the conversion electronics system are firmly connected to the panel body and are two components which are mechanically decoupled from a control electronics system of the domestic appliance.
