  • Publication number: 20190295252
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods for classifying biomedical images. A feature classifier may generate a plurality of tiles from a biomedical image. Each tile may correspond to a portion of the biomedical image. The feature classifier may select a subset of tiles from the plurality of tiles by applying an inference model. The subset of tiles may have highest scores. Each score may indicate a likelihood that the corresponding tile includes a feature indicative of the presence of the condition. The feature classifier may determine a classification result for the biomedical image by applying an aggregation model. The classification result may indicate whether the biomedical includes the presence or lack of the condition.

  • Publication number: 20190286936
Abstract: Systems and methods for training and using an image classifier are provided. A plurality of points can be generated from respective patches of images annotated as either a first type or a second type. The points corresponding to the images of the second type can be clustered into two clusters. A first cluster of the two clusters can be identified as closer to the points corresponding to the images annotated as the first type. The points in the first cluster can be assigned to a class positive, the points in the second cluster can be assigned to a class negative, and the points corresponding to the images annotated as the first type can be assigned to an anchor class. A plurality of triplets can be generated based on the points in the various classes. Parameters of an image classifier can be adjusted based on a loss function of the triplets.

  • Patent number: 10018221
Abstract: A fracture-separated engine component and a method for manufacturing same is described. The engine component includes first and second parts each having a fracture surface extending along a fracture plane. Prior to fracture separation, the engine component is case-hardened by nitriding and has a nitriding hardness depth of 0.4 to 0.7 mm. After the nitriding, the engine component is cooled such that each one of the subsequent fracture surfaces reaches a temperature below ?100° C. The fracture separation is then performed. After, the engine component has two fracture surfaces along a fracture plane, the fracture surfaces having hardened peripheral areas and unhardened core sections. No point of the unhardened core sections located in the fracture plane is located at a distance greater than 1.1 mm from a nearest hardened peripheral area. Each one of the fracture surfaces includes elongated partial fracture surfaces with a width of less than 3.2 mm.

  • Publication number: 20180148655
Abstract: A method for separating asphaltenes from an asphaltene-containing fuel, wherein fuel is supplied to a separation unit in which a sub-stream with low-boiling fuel components of the fuel is separated. After separation of the sub-stream the fuel is supplied to a deasphalting unit in which asphaltenes contained in the fuel are separated by a solvent. After the separation of the asphaltenes from the fuel, the solvent is separated therefrom in a solvent recovery unit. The separated solvent is circulated back into the deasphalting unit, and a solvent fraction is obtained from the sub-stream that has been separated from the fuel, which is supplied to the deasphalting unit in addition to the solvent recirculated from the solvent recovery unit. A device is adapted for separating asphaltenes from an asphaltene-containing fuel.
