  • Publication number: 20200047125
Abstract: A system for storing fluids provides a plurality of containers, a filtering or osmotic fluid processing system and a fluid crossconnect system for connecting the containers with the processing system. Fluid can be drawn from a selected container, processed and directed back to a container, replacing previously processed fluid. Storage volume required in closed fluid processing systems is thereby minimised.

  • Publication number: 20070129461
Abstract: The present invention provides a composition for use as an antifouling agent and a method of decreasing fouling of a surface in a marine environment. The composition is a polymeric matrix, the polymeric matrix comprising subunits of at least one structural monomer and at least one ionic monomer. The ionic monomer comprising a salt, that is an anion that is a conjugate base of an acid having a pKa less than about 9 and at least one cation that is a cationic biocide. One embodiment includes guanidinium counterions that undergo ion exchange to slowly release a biocidal component.

  • Publication number: 20050072690
Abstract: Ion exchange membranes for use in sensors that measure dissolved gases are described. Sensors constructed using the disclosed membranes are able to maintain electrolyte conditions within the electrolyte volume so as to have greatly extended and more stable lifetimes than sensors of similar construction and electrolyte volume constructed with standard membranes.

  • Patent number: 4906376
Abstract: A functional membrane is provided for proton-driven ion transport. It consists essentially of a blend of two components. The first component is an active polymer having cation-binding sites, the cation binding sites being provided, e.g., by a crown ether, a cryptand or an acyclic complexone with an ionizable acidic site, e.g., a carboxylic acid, a sulfonic acid and a phenol, such active polymer being incorporated into a polymer backbone via a spacer component. The second component is a support polymer, e.g. a polyaramide, a polysulfone, or a polypip-erazine-fumaramide.
