  • Patent number: 8292639
Abstract: Control modules having connectors with compliant pin terminals for connection to a printed circuit board (PCB) are provided. The module housing can be made of a die cast metal to withstand harsh environments and have at least one open bay area for receiving a connector having compliant pin contacts for connecting the module to a PCB. A plurality of compliant pin terminal can have a push shoulders for providing an engagement surface for insertion of the terminals through passages in a connector housing, for positioning the connector relative to the die cast housing during the mounting the connector to the die cast housing, and to transfer the force away from the connector housing applied in connecting the PCB to the compliant pin tips. • Patent number: 6217354
Abstract: A lever type electrical connector assembly includes a first connector having an actuating lever pivotally movably mounted thereon. The actuating lever includes a first cam groove formed therein. A slide member is linearly movably mounted on the first connector and includes a second cam groove formed therein. The slide member has a first cam follower projection engaged in the first cam groove of the actuating lever, whereby pivotal movement of the actuating lever relative to the first connector effects linear movement of the slide member relative to the first connector. A second connector has a second cam follower projection to be engaged in the second cam groove of the slide member, whereby the connectors are mated and unmated in response to rotation of the actuating lever and resulting translation of the slide member.

  • Patent number: 5522740
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a dielectric housing having a forward mating end and a rearward terminating end and at least one terminal-receiving cavity extending in a direction between the ends. A terminal is insertable into the cavity from the rearward terminating end of the housing. A TPA device is selectively engageable with the housing at the terminating end thereof, with a terminal retention portion insertable into the cavity in locking engagement with the terminal. An abutment shoulder on the TPA device engages an aperture in the terminal for moving the terminal from at least one incomplete position of insertion to a fully inserted position in response to engaging the TPA device with the housing and fully inserting the terminal into the cavity.

  • Patent number: 5186644
Abstract: An electrical connector assembly is disclosed, particularly adapted for connecting an electronic control system to an adjustable automotive suspension component. The assembly includes a dielectric housing having terminals for connection to appropriate mating terminals on the suspension component. A separate dielectric latch is ultrasonically welded to the dielectric housing for latching the connector assembly to a complementary latch on the suspension component. The housing has a base and a receptacle projecting from the base. The separate latch has a shroud ultrasonically welded about the receptacle of the housing. The terminals are insert molded in the housing. The terminals are generally L-shaped with one leg of each terminal completely insert molded in the base, including its termination with an appropriate electrical wire, and the other leg of each L-shaped terminal defines its contact portion extending into the receptacle of the housing.
