  • Patent number: 4878525
Abstract: In combination with vehicle wheels a means for performing reduction of effective vehicle bearing weight thereby mitigating rolling resistance thereof enhancing energy efficiency. Attachment to be radially fixed on and around a vehicle wheel and configured to extend beyond the periphery of the wheel in a prolapse condition not common to wheel art. The attachment shall be displaceable and capable of energy storage and release sequaciously.Operation shall be via the nutation of the extended attachment with each nutating cycle bifurcated by the vehicle bearing weight area thereof allowing the bearing weight to be transferred to the displaceable attachments dynamically. The effective bearing weight of the vehicle is reduced and thereof deformations to the vehicle wheel and roadway are mitigated. Reduction of the deformations mitigate nonproductive energy transfer from the vehicle wheel and roadway structure.

  • Patent number: 4447964
Abstract: A steam dryer system for drying a moving web and including a primary series of rotatable drying drums, steam inlet conduits coupled to said rotatable drying drums for introducing steam thereinto, outlet conduits coupled to said rotatable drying drums for exhausting blow-through steam with noncondensible gases and condensate therefrom, recirculation means including a steam jet compressor to recirculate blow-through steam from said outlet conduits back to said inlet conduits, recirculation control means comprising instruments to measure velocity pressure of the recirculation flow and to control the action of said jet compressor, a further number of secondary drying drums having inlet conduits and a pressure control valve connected to the outlet of said jet compressor and with outlet conduits connected to a condenser, and pressure control means comprising instruments to measure and control the input pressure in said secondary drying drums.

  • Patent number: 3930600
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for injection molding of materials such, for example, as thermoplastic resinous material, utilizing a rotatable and reciprocal screw extruder for plasticizing and injecting the material into a mold cavity, and wherein an injection piston in a cylinder is operatively connected to the plasticizing screw to push the screw forward to effect injection into a mold of plasticized material in front of the screw. A supply of fluid pressure is positively applied to the injection piston to provide a back pressure to act against the reaction caused by the rotation of the plasticizing screw, and this back pressure may be regulated to correspond with the rearward displacement, of the screw.
