Abstract: An apparatus (30, 50, 60) for protection against fire in an electrical system (10) at connection points for electrical cables (510) comprises at least one thermal element (50) which is operable to register and warn in response to increased temperature in the electrical cables (510) or in one or more electrical elements (30) whereat the cables (510) are coupled. A fire warning unit (60) is coupled in operation to the at least one thermal element (50) for sending a warning in an event that the thermal element (50) measures an increase in temperature above a temperature threshold. Use of the thermal element (60) makes in possible to detect early melting or fire.
