  • Patent number: 12125130
Abstract: Sensor data indicating a user's response to an avatar experience in which the user experiences a rendered avatar model is obtained. A perceptual quality metric value corresponding to the rendered avatar model is determined based on the sensor data and a determined relationship between the sensor data and the perceptual quality metric value. The avatar model is re-rendered for display based on the perceptual quality metric value.

  • Publication number: 20240342970
Abstract: An injection molding tool or an injection method for producing at least one molded part in a molding space, wherein the injection molding tool has at least two tool elements which are movable relative to one another between an open position and a closed position, wherein in the closed position the molding space is at least partially enclosed by the at least two tool elements and wherein in the open position a molded part produced in the molding space can be removed from the injection molding tool. In order to enable cleaning of the injection molding tool, a cleaning position is provided which lies between the open position and the closed position and in which a spacer element is arranged between the tool elements.

  • Patent number: 12105280
Abstract: In one implementation, a method includes emitting light with modulating intensity from a plurality of light sources towards an eye of a user. The method includes receiving light intensity data indicative of an intensity of the plurality of glints reflected by the eye of the user in the form of a plurality of glints. The method includes determining an eye tracking characteristic of the user based on the light intensity data. In one implementation, a method includes generating, using an event camera comprising a plurality of light sensors at a plurality of respective locations, a plurality of event messages, each of the plurality of event messages being generated in response to a particular light sensor detecting a change in intensity of light and indicating a particular location of the particular light sensor. The method includes determining an eye tracking characteristic of a user based on the plurality of event messages.

  • Patent number: 11861873
Abstract: One implementation involves a device receiving a stream of pixel events output by an event camera. The device derives an input image by accumulating pixel events for multiple event camera pixels. The device generates a gaze characteristic using the derived input image as input to a neural network trained to determine the gaze characteristic. The neural network is configured in multiple stages. The first stage of the neural network is configured to determine an initial gaze characteristic, e.g., an initial pupil center, using reduced resolution input(s). The second stage of the neural network is configured to determine adjustments to the initial gaze characteristic using location-focused input(s), e.g., using only a small input image centered around the initial pupil center. The determinations at each stage are thus efficiently made using relatively compact neural network configurations. The device tracks a gaze of the eye based on the gaze characteristic.

  • Publication number: 20230393020
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for clamping a test piece (1, 1?, 1?), comprising an upper clamping rail (3U) and a lower clamping rail (3L) for horizontally clamping an upper end and a lower end of the test piece (1, 1?, 1?). In addition, it comprises vertical left clamping edges (4L, 4L?) and vertical right clamping edges (4R, 4R?) for laterally supporting a right side and a left side of the test piece (1, 1?, 1?). A segmented bearing, in each case comprising a plurality of pivotably movable bearing segments (26), which can be individually pivoted out of a clamping plane, is arranged on each of the upper clamping rail (3U) and the lower clamping rail (3L). The bearing segments (26) each comprise a bearing segment chuck. The invention also relates to a method for clamping a test piece (1, 1?, 1?) and to a system for buckling testing.

  • Patent number: 11740166
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method for determining elastic properties of a test body by the use of tensile or compressive loading in a test stand, wherein a centroid line is defined for a longitudinal axis for the test body, centroid line miming through elastic centers of gravity of infinitesimally thick discs which lie orthogonally to the longitudinal axis and into which the test body can be divided. The test body is clamped at two clamping points by clamping devices, and a force is introduced at, at least one of the two clamping points in the direction of the respective other clamping point such that a line of action of a force introduced at, at least one of the clamping points is substantially parallel to a connection line between the two clamping points. Furthermore, by providing additional material or springs to the test body, the center of gravity line of the test body is converted into a modified centroid line of the entire system consisting of the test body and additional material or springs).

  • Patent number: 11734570
Abstract: The present disclosure describes techniques for training a neural network such that the trained network can be implemented to perform a utility task (e.g., a classification task) while inhibiting performance of a secondary task (e.g., a privacy-violating task). In some embodiments, the techniques include training a neural network using a first loss associated with a first task and a second loss associated with a second task different from the first task. In some embodiments, this includes performing a first training operation associated with the first loss, and performing a second training operation associated with the second loss, wherein the second training operation includes providing, to the neural network, a plurality of input items associated with the second task.
