  • Patent number: 9384544
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for measuring a ratio of a variable for assessment in medical imaging data of a subject, a viewable image is generated from source imaging data of the subject. A pair of regions of interest for arrangement on the viewable image is then generated, and a value of the variable for each region of the pair from the source imaging data is determined. The ratio of the two values is then determined from the pair.

  • Patent number: 9349184
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for identifying regions of interest in medical images of a subject, in particular images captured by a medical imaging apparatus, such as a PET scanner, a list of voxels of the image is obtained, and sorted according to a first variable. A user-selection of an initial voxel in the image is then registered, and at least one voxel or group of voxels from the sorted list is selected as a region of interest, according to a property of the at least one voxel or group in relation to the user-selected initial voxel. The image may be pre-processed to generate the sorted list of voxels, following which the user selection of the initial voxel is registered.

  • Patent number: 9299144
Abstract: A method for facilitating comparison of image data from a given medical imaging protocol with archive image data, includes obtaining subject image data from a scan of a subject using the medical imaging protocol, obtaining archive image data differing from the subject image data in a given variable, determining a modifier usable to reduce the difference between the archive and subject image data, using the modifier to modify one of the subject image data and the archive image data to reduce the difference, and comparing the modified archive or subject image data with the subject or archive image data.

  • Patent number: 8605965
Abstract: In methods and an apparatus for generating a modified intensity projection image from captured medical image data of a subject, an intensity projection image data set and a secondary image data set are obtained from the image data. A region of interest is determined in the secondary image data set, and a surface of this region of interest is then determined. The intensity projection image data set and the region of interest surface are then combined to generate the modified intensity projection image for display.

  • Patent number: 8442291
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for establishing the position of one or more constituent elements of a phantom in an image quality test for a medical imaging apparatus, an image of the phantom is obtained, and a landmark pixel or region of the image determined. Values of a given variable at pixels or regions at a predetermined distance from the landmark pixel or region are determined. The landmark pixel or region and the values of the variable are then used to establish the position of one or more of the constituent elements of the phantom.

  • Patent number: 7929799
Abstract: An image processing method is described that allows a user to manipulate regions of interest (ROIs) in a mask based image. The user defines a stretch vector for example by ‘clicking and dragging’ a mouse pointer and an algorithm deforms the ROI according to a roll-off function that avoids the non-smooth edge effects seen in prior art techniques such as paintbrushes.

  • Publication number: 20090257635
Abstract: In a system and method for dividing a medical scan into regions to which features of interest may be assigned, region boundaries are defined with reference to anatomical landmarks and are presented to the physician along with the scan so that it is immediately apparent in which region a feature lies.

  • Patent number: 7558680
Abstract: Methods and systems of measuring progressive multilateral dysfunction of a system are provided. Methods of measuring progressive multilateral dysfunction of a system include, obtaining a plurality of different health measures for the system, defining a multidimensional space with one dimension corresponding to each health measures and defining a point in the multidimensional space representing the values of the health measures. Further the method includes, comparing the position of the defined point to a predefined trajectory through said multidimensional space representing progressive multilateral dysfunction of the system where the measure of the progressive multilateral dysfunction of the system is calculated from the position of the point relative to the predefined trajectory.
