  • Patent number: 9937517
Abstract: A device for guiding and/or forming a plastics profile includes a region of alterable cross-section formed by a wound flat element. The wound flat element overlaps in a region and is in close mutual contact in the overlapping region. The wound flat element includes a flexible and resiliently deformable coating thereon. A device is provided for altering the region of alterable cross-section.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 19, 2013
Date of Patent: April 10, 2018
    Assignee: BATTENFELD-CINCINNATI GERMANY GMBH
    Inventors: Heinrich Dohmann, Thomas Gesper
  • Patent number: 9669576
Abstract: A method for controlling the temperature of a polymer melt in an extrusion tool includes flowing the polymer melt via at least one flow channel from an input to an output and around at least one temperature-control element in the at least one flow channel. The temperature control element includes a plurality of temperature control units. The temperature of the polymer melt flowing around the temperature-control element is controlled by individually controlling each of the temperature-control units so as to vary a degree of temperature control of the temperature-control element such that a degree of temperature control is controllable to be the same or different at locations throughout the temperature control-element.

  • Patent number: 9434100
Abstract: A device for sealing an extruded plastics material profile in at least one of an inlet region and an outlet region of a tank is disposed at an end face of the tank. The device includes a rigid element and a closed annular cross section formed of a resilient material and including a cavity. An outer peripheral shape of the annular cross section is disposed against the rigid element. The annular cross section is alterable by applying a vacuum to the cavity, wherein the annular cross section is configured to be applied to an outside of the plastics material profile. A stretching device is disposed against the rigid element and is configured to stretch the resilient material along an extrusion axis during an alteration of the annular cross section.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 9259873
Abstract: An extrusion line for producing plastics material profiles includes an extruder, a calibration station, and an additional piece of downstream equipment. A mold includes an internal cooling system having a branch for a coolant disposed inside the mold; wherein a coolant flow distribution is controllable.
