  • Patent number: 9578897
Abstract: A combustible heat source (4) for a smoking article (2) comprises carbon and at least one ignition aid, wherein the ignition aid is present in an amount of at least 20 percent by dry weight of the combustible heat source. The combustible heat source (4) has a first portion and an opposed second portion. At least part (4b) of the combustible heat source (4) between the first portion and the second portion is wrapped in a combustion resistant wrapper (22) that is one or both of heat conducting and substantially oxygen impermeable. Upon ignition of the first portion of the combustible heat source (4), the second portion of the combustible heat source increases in temperature to a first temperature. During subsequent combustion of the combustible heat source (4), the second portion of the combustible heat source (4) maintains a second temperature lower than the first temperature.

  • Patent number: 5441695
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the manufacture by sintering of a titanium part, characterized in that is consists of:(a) mixing a titanium hydride powder with a temporary binding agent,(b) injecting the mixture obtained into a mold to obtain a part in the desired shape,(c) removing the binding agent,(d) heating the part in a hydrogen atmosphere up to the desired sintering temperature,(e) replacing the hydrogen atmosphere by a vacuum or a non-reactive atmosphere once the sintering temperature has been reached, and(f) cooling the part in a non-reactive gas atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 4923672
Abstract: The mould of this invention is intended for the manufacture of small dimensioned parts, in particular those dimensioned on the order of 0.1 mm or less. It comprises one or several mould shells each of which is obtained by:machining a matrix (100) from a hard material of which at least a portion (104) will have the form of a negative of the desired shell, such portion having dimensions slightly greater than those of the shell to be finally obtained;positioning the matrix within a cavity (106) and obtaining a blank of the shell (116) by injecting a mixture composed of a metallic powder and a binding agent into the cavity;eliminating the binding agent by heating the blank and thereafter subjecting said blank to a sintering operation.
