  • Patent number: 7269150
Abstract: A method for transmitting signaling is proposed which is simple and efficient without taking up significant transmission capacity. In the method, a transmission of the signaling takes place between a mobile station (12) and a base station (11) in a mobile radio network. The signaling is transmitted in at least one predetermined time slot (301), and a different signaling is assigned to each mobile station (12) disposed in a radio cell of the base station (11), so that signaling operations of various mobile stations, transmitted via the at least predetermined time slot, can be distinguished from one another in the base station (11).

  • Publication number: 20070140115
Abstract: A transmission channel, for the transmission of messages from a mobile terminal to a base station, is selected after a terminal sends a send authorization request signal, for a particular transmission channel, to the base station and the base station sends a reply signal with a first decision value. The terminal is thus signaled whether the terminal is authorized to send a message on the requested transmission channel. On sending a first negative decision value, the base station sends a second positive decision value with the reply signal, when the terminal is authorized to send a message on another transmission channel. On detection of a first negative decision value, the terminal analyzes the reply signal further for whether a second positive decision value is contained therein and which other transmission channels are available and hence sends the message on one of the available transmission channels.

  • Patent number: 7203509
Abstract: A method for managing communication sessions in a packet-oriented communication system, consisting of a central control unit and a plurality of mobile stations, which can be interconnected via the central control unit. To achieve this, a communication session is established between mobile stations that are assigned to a first communication group. Session priorities are then defined for a first mobile station of the first communication group, said station being in addition assigned to at least a second communications group. Finally the session priorities are transmitted to the central control unit. A second communication session is also established between those mobile stations that are assigned to the second communication group(s), including the first mobile station. Both the first and the second communication session are established via the central control unit, in such a way that the latter can manage the first mobile station in both communication sessions according to the transmitted session priorities.

  • Patent number: 7089021
Abstract: In a cellular radio communication system, at least one locating measuring signal is emitted by at least one additional positioning element from at least one radio cell. According to the invention, each positioning element monitors the radio signalizing on the common air interface of the respective base station to see whether a positioning inquiry signal is emitted to said station and/or from said station. When detecting a positioning inquiry signal of said type, a monitoring positioning element of said type independently inserts at least one locating measuring signal into at least one free signal section of the radio signaling.

  • Publication number: 20040209638
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for adapting uplink signaling during multicasting, according to which the user devices of a multicast group receive a multicast message from a network control unit via a radio channel (PMcCH) in a downlink connection. Said radio channel is adapted with respect to its power by transmitting information in an uplink connection via a corresponding radio channel (UL-DPCCH). According to the invention, said radio channel (UL-DPCCH) is power-controlled via at least one associated common radio channel (DL-PMcCH) that is associated with one or more of the user devices by transmitting corresponding information in the downlink direction from the network control unit to the user devices. Said information is then processed by the receiving user devices to adapt the power of the respective associated radio channels (UL-DPCCH) in the uplink direction.

  • Publication number: 20040180680
Abstract: A method is provided for the administration of a muticast service whereby mobile terminals of users who have subscribed to the multicast service receive multicast messages via a mobile communication network. The present invention seeks to use the available radio resources in a more economical manner. To this end, the mobile terminals are respectively prodied with an input unit which, when actuated, produces activation information which indicates whether the multicast service is activated or deactivated, and the activation information is transmitted to the mobile communication network.

  • Publication number: 20030103513
Abstract: The invention proposes a method for signaling various header data (5, 10, 20, 25) in the transmission of packet data units (1) in a telecommunications network depending on a type of the respective header data (5, 10, 20, 25), which requires the lowest possible bandwidth and bit rate. A set of header data (5, 10, 20, 25) received in a receiver (70) of the telecommunications network, depending on its signaling (30, 35, 40), is supplied to one of at least two groups (50, 55) of algorithms for an evaluation. For a first type of header data (5, 10, 20, 25), a first algorithm is provided in a first group (50) of algorithms, and for a second type of header data (5, 10, 20, 25) a second algorithm is provided in a second group (55) of algorithms, wherein the first algorithm corresponds to the second algorithm. The signaling (30, 35, 40) for the first type of header data (5, 10, 20, 25) and the signaling (30, 35, 40) for the second type of header data (5, 10, 20, 25) are combined into a shared signaling.

  • Publication number: 20030035423
Abstract: A method of transmitting data from a sender to a number of recipients in a system with a multilayer protocol architecture, in which the data are divided for organizational purposes into data packets having header data and payload data, a transmitting and/or receiving unit and a communication system. The transmission of data in the form of a point-to-multipoint transmission over a general channel, in particular in a mobile radio system, is carried out by adding to packet data which are being sent to multicast groups control data for the identification of a specific multicast group.
