  • Patent number: 10964108
Abstract: Augmentation of captured 3D scenes with contextual information is disclosed. A 3D capture device is used to capture a plurality of 3D images at a first resolution. A component on a mobile computing device is used to capture at least one piece of contextual information that includes a capture location data and a pose data. The mobile computing device receives, the plurality of 3D images from the 3D capture device, and renders the plurality of 3D images into a 3D model. In addition, the at least one piece of contextual information is embedded into a correct location in the 3D model. A user interactive version of the 3D model including the embedded at least one piece of contextual information is then displayed.

  • Publication number: 20080011417
Abstract: A tool is disclosed for forming an article in a molding operation. The tool includes a first layer with a forming surface for forming the article. The first layer is formed from a first material having a hardness or corrosion resistance sufficient for the forming operation. The second layer is affixed to the first layer for collectively forming a tool body. The second layer is formed from a second material having different material properties than that of the first material, and the second material has sufficient structural integrity for withstanding stresses of the tool body during the forming operation. A tool is also disclosed having a series of laminate sheets collectively providing a portion of the tool body. Another sheet is affixed to the laminate sheets with a homogenous forming surface for forming the article in the molding operation.

  • Publication number: 20080003323
Abstract: In one embodiment, a tool for forming an article in a molding operation has a tool body formed from a non-particulate material, with a particulate material bonded to the body. The body provides a forming surface for forming the article. The particulate material, or the particulate material and the tool body collectively provide a duct for conveying a fluid for transfer of heat with the forming surface. In another embodiment, the tool has a tool body formed from a non-particulate material with a cavity and the particulate material is disposed within the cavity. A heat transfer material is disposed in the cavity bonding the particulate material to the tool body. Methods for manufacturing such tools are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20060249872
Abstract: A tool is provided for forming an article in a molding operation with a body formed with a forming surface for forming the article. A heat transfer material is mounted to the tool body, spaced apart from the forming surface, and formed from a material having a coefficient of thermal conductivity that is greater than that of the tool body. The heat transfer material and/or the tool body collectively provide a duct for conveying a fluid for heat transfer with the forming surface. Another tool is disclosed for forming an article in a molding operation with a tool body formed from a plurality of laminate sheets of a first material. The tool body includes a forming surface and a cavity. A heat transfer material having a coefficient of thermal conductivity greater than that of the first material is disposed within the cavity for transferring heat from the forming surface.
