  • Patent number: 9650001
Abstract: A battery arrangement for electrical loads in a vehicle for transporting hazardous waste includes: a battery having at least a first terminal, electrically connectable to an electrical load; a first electrical resistor electrically connected in series to the battery and a second terminal, the second terminal being electrically connectable to the electrical load; and a switch component connected electrically in parallel to the first electrical resistor and connected electrically to the battery. The switch component is controlled such that a first voltage applicable to a third terminal and having a value exceeding a specifiable value closes the switch component and the first resistor is short-circuited. When the applicable first voltage falls below the specifiable value, the switch component opens and the short-circuit is broken.

  • Patent number: 9196099
Abstract: A tachograph and a toll onboard unit as communication partners, which each have a data interface for a data communication via a vehicle data bus to which the communication partners are coupled. The tachograph and/or the toll onboard unit are implemented as a transmitter of data to ascertain a cryptographic check value as a function of user data, which are to be transmitted to the communication partner, and to transmit the cryptographic check value in addition to the user data to the communication partner. The toll onboard unit or the tachograph, respectively, as a receiver of data, is implemented to receive user data and the cryptographic check value associated with the user data from the communication partner and to check the received user data for corruption as a function of the received cryptographic check value.

  • Patent number: 8484475
Abstract: In a data transmission method for a tachograph system, digital messages are transmitted between a speed transmitter (MS) and a recording unit (RU). The digital messages contain a pair of keys including a public key (KMP, KRP) and a private key (KMS, KRS), as well as a certificate (ZM, ZR) derived from the respective pair of keys. The public keys (KMP, KRP) and the certificates (ZM, ZR) are mutually verified between the recording unit (RU) and the speed transmitter (MS). If the verification is positive, the speed transmitter (MS) detects sensor data, and a digital message is generated therefrom. In addition, the speed transmitter (MS) generates authentication data for the message in accordance with the pair of keys (KMP, KMS) thereof. The message and the authentication data are transmitted to the recording unit and are processed there in accordance with a validity of the authentication data verified by the recording unit (RU).

  • Publication number: 20070043951
Abstract: In a safety device for electronic devices in a vehicle, it is provided that a security module with a data memory is only accessible after prior authentication; that signatures of data of the devices are stored in the data memory; and that a comparator is provided for comparing the stored data with the data respectively read out from the devices.

  • Patent number: 6150811
Abstract: A magnetic field sensor consists of a cylinder (2) with a core of premagnetized amorphous ferromagnetic metal. The inductance of the coil (2) is controlled by earth magnetic field H.sub.E and forms part of an L.C. oscillator (1). An adjusting device is provided to smooth out fluctuations from a target value in the oscillator frequency caused by the action of the field H.sub.E on the oscillator coil (2). This is done by allowing another adjustable magnetic field to influence the inductance (2) of the oscillator (1): the adjustable magnetic field is generated by a second coil (3) in the form of a compensating coil and the current flux (1) through the second coil (3) is controlled by the adjusting device in such a way that the magnetic field generated by the second coil (3) compensates for the action of the field H.sub.

  • Patent number: 6144927
Abstract: A data-transmission device has a pulse generator (1) and a monitoring unit (20) for use in a vehicle. A signal generated by the sensor (2) is transmitted from the pulse generator (1) to the monitoring unit (20) by a signal line (9) and also, when requested by the monitoring unit, is transmitted in encrypted form along a data line (19). The signal generated by the pulse generator (1) is first stored in an intermediate store. Before transmission, the contents of this store are encrypted. On arrival in the monitoring unit, the encrypted signal is compared with the signal previously transmitted in the usual way and recorded there. This is a security check which reveals any manipulations which have been made during transmission.
