  • Patent number: 11020784
Abstract: A method for producing a molded body of particularly steel, and including a hub and a bell-shaped lower part axially connected thereto, in which an inner contour is made in the lower part by non-cutting forming in a convex region. The inner contour includes of ball tracks and cage paths that are concave in the axial direction and arranged in a peripherally alternating manner, for receiving rolling bodies, the cage paths being shallower than the ball tracks. The hub is formed from a rotating round blank and reducing the thickness thereof using at least one pressure roller. The flat region of the round blank that radially connects to the hub is pressed onto contour segments of a rotating first inner contour tool, partially forming the inner contour using at least one axially and radially moving pressure roller to form a preform of the lower part. The fixed preform is pressed against contour segments of a second inner contour tool by a die of partial dies, fully forming the cage paths and ball tracks.

  • Publication number: 20190151923
Abstract: A method for producing a formed body includes providing a round or pre-formed semi-finished product of a steel material, and heating the semi-finished product at least in regions to a first temperature. The method further includes forming a hub on the semi-finished product warm at least in regions, for generating a preform having an upper geometric element. The method further includes heating or re-heating the preform having an upper geometric element at least in regions to a second temperature, and forming a bell on the preform having an upper geometric element warm at least in regions, for generating a preform having an upper and at least one lower geometric element. The method further includes heating or re-heating the preform at least in regions to a third temperature, and profiling the preform warm at least in regions for generating a formed body in a third operative step.

  • Publication number: 20180236521
Abstract: A method for producing a shaped part may include providing a first layer consisting of a first sheet metal material and at least a second layer consisting of a second sheet metal material, forming a preliminary composite comprising the first layer and the at least second layer, plating the preliminary composite, and forming the preliminary composite to obtain the shaped part using a flow turning, compression or deep drawing method. The plating may be done before or during the forming process. At least one of the first layer or the second layer may be heated for the plating and/or the forming. The shaped part may be formed by compressing the preliminary composite with a pressing body, and the pressing body may be moved parallel or perpendicular to an axis of symmetry during the compression.

  • Patent number: 10035179
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an apparatus for the continuous and progressive shaping of metal strips to produce a formed metal strip whose cross sectional dimensions vary along a longitudinal axis thereof. The apparatus includes a device for shaping the metal strips, wherein the device has at least one tool set with at least two rotatably mounted and mutually associated tools, wherein the tools each have a pressure face disposed along an outer circumference thereof with a contour configured to shape the workpieces. The contour of the pressure face of at least one tool is not axially symmetric. In order to be able to cost-effectively produce workpieces or profiles with a variable cross section, in particular profiles with a closed cross section, it is proposed that the contours of the pressure faces of all tools, but at least of one tool set, are concave in order to generate a profile having a closed cross section.

  • Publication number: 20160121383
Abstract: A device for manufacturing at least one undercut in a sheet-metal profile that is slotted or closed may include an inner core portion and an outer core portion, which together can be inserted within the sheet-metal profile and/or may support a semi-finished sheet-metal product from which the sheet-metal profile is formed. The inner core portion and the outer core portion may have faces that mate with one another such that when the inner core portion rotates or translates relative to the outer core portion, the outer core portion is forced away from the inner core portion. To cause this behavior, the faces may be undulating, inclined, or cam-like, for example. In effect, a cross-sectional profile of the device may be reduced at least for purposes of extracting the device from the sheet-metal profile after the undercuts have been formed.
