  • Patent number: 9156354
Abstract: A driver assistance system for a vehicle is provided. The driver assistance system includes a detecting device, which is designed to detect driving data that characterize the driving state of the vehicle, and a controller, which is designed to process the driving data detected by the detecting device and, if predetermined driving data are present, trigger a braking device to perform autonomous braking of the vehicle. The controller is also designed such that if driving data that indicate an imminent collision with an obstacle are detected, the function of the detecting device is monitored. If the detecting device no longer provides any driving data or plausible driving data to the controller, a continuation of the autonomous braking is triggered, at least until the vehicle has been decelerated to a specified speed.

  • Patent number: 8768596
Abstract: A device for the speed control of a vehicle, containing an operator control unit, via which the driver specifies a setpoint speed to be maintained by the vehicle, and a control unit, which positions final controlling elements of the vehicle according to the driver's specification. The device provides that the operator control unit contains at least one speed direct setting control element, which is used for setting a specific setpoint speed value, and the specific setpoint speed value of the vehicle is specifiable and directly settable by a one-time operation of the speed direct setting control element, independently of the instantaneous actual speed of the vehicle.
