  • Patent number: 6534556
Abstract: A formulated resin composition for producing a closed cell rigid polyisocyanate based foam is disclosed. The formulated resin composition for use in a polyurethane froth spraying system includes a hydrofluorocarbon blowing agent, a Mannich polyol, at least one additional polyol, a catalyst system, and a surfactant. The formulated resin composition has a hydroxyl content of at least 400 mg KOH/g and a polyurethane foam produced utilizing the formulated resin composition has a closed cell content of at least 90 percent. The formulated resin composition exhibits a zero ozone depleting potential and produces a polyurethane foam that cures faster than conventional sprayed polyurethane foams.

  • Patent number: 6070178
Abstract: A random number generator for generating random numbers. The generator may include two similarly implemented random signal sources, with each source generating a random signal. A difference signal of the two random signals is generated with the result that any common interference signal components are eliminated.

  • Patent number: 5993387
Abstract: A computer-based mixed-use cord stem cells registry system, method and device are provided for developing and maintaining a mixed-used bank of placental and umbilical cord stem cells and for the resultant bank. The cord stem cells, or a fraction thereof, is stored in a bank for the potential use of the donor and potentially the actual family of the donor child or from an unrelated person for whom the cord stem cells are a match. The system makes the cord stem cells available to the family until the blood sample is found to match a non-family member in need of the cord stem cells. At this time the family is given an option of keeping the sample for themselves or of providing it to the non-family member along with current information on the donor family.

  • Patent number: 5762885
Abstract: An apparatus for regenerating a catalyst absorber after contact with a combustion exhaust which consist of a pair of cooperating louvered doors one on each side of a bed of catalyst absorber, there being at least two beds such that closing a cooperating pair of louvers, isolates the bed contained between the louvers from the exhaust gases while the other bed is left with the louvers open to continue treating the exhaust gas. Between each pair of louvers and associated with the catalyst absorber bed between the respective pair of louvers, there are positioned a regeneration inlet nozzle and a used regeneration gas outlet. By selectively closing various pairs of the louvers, a portion of the bed can be regenerated while the remainder of the bed continues to treat the exhaust gases. In this way an equivalent amount of active or regenerated catalyst absorber is in contact with the combustion exhaust gases to maintain a specified outlet pollution concentration limit.

  • Patent number: 3960473
Abstract: A pultrusion die for forming elongated, serrated, fiber-reinforced articles is disclosed. The die comprises a die block having a cylindrical cavity therethrough and a plurality of cylindrical rods arranged in a cylindrical array about the sidewall of the cavity. Each rod contacts two adjacent rods at parallel lines of contact which are located along the length of each rod and which define inwardly facing cylindrical arcs of less than 180.degree. so that the rods lock each other against nonaxial movement. The inwardly facing arcs together define a serrated die cavity.
