  • Publication number: 20140299196
Abstract: A water lifting system, in particular a fire extinguishing system for offshore installations, such as oil and/or gas production platforms or ships or the like, and a method for operating a water lifting system, is provided. The system includes a pump, a pump-turbine assembly having a pump unit and a turbine unit, and a line connecting the pump-turbine assembly's pump unit output opening and the pump suction opening through which a volume flow (QS) is conducted. The volume flow (QS) include a first partial volume flow (QF) and a second partial volume flow (QT). The first partial volume flow (QF) is conducted to at least one water extraction point and the second partial volume flow (QT) is conducted to the input opening of the pump-turbine assembly's turbine unit.

  • Patent number: 7828531
Abstract: A vertical centrifugal pump unit, in particular for wet installation in a closed container, including an intermediate pipe (17) which surrounds the shaft (3) of the pump unit and is arranged between the housing (11) of the centrifugal pump (12) and a bracket (5) which carries the electric motor (1) of the unit. The pump unit preferably is fastened in particular to a horizontal flat part (19) arranged beneath the flange (6) of the bracket (5), especially the cover of a container. Production is simplified and it is possible to readily adapt the intermediate pipe to different sizes by designing the intermediate pipe (17) without a flange or other enlargements on its end faces, and pressing the end faces against the bracket (5) and the pump housing (11) using screw connections (18, 20) distributed uniformly around the circumference. The bracket (5) and the flat part (19) arranged beneath the bracket are joined together by the screw connections (18, 20).

  • Patent number: 5454699
Abstract: A swash plate pump having a pump housing comprises a swash plate shaft and a swash plate being disposed in a pump chamber. The pump chamber has an intake and a delivery opening. The pump chamber is formed by two lateral surfaces and by a spherical inner surface and a spherical outer surface. The swash plate performs a wobbling motion. The swash plate is provided with a circular ring that is mounted on the spherical inner surface. A partition, which divides the circular ring of the swash plate, is disposed in the housing with at least one first lateral space disposed on a side that is remote from a drive of the swash plate and a second lateral space disposed on a side that is adjacent to the drive of the swash plate. The shaft passes through a plurality of dynamic seals in the housing. The section of the shaft, disposed within the housing, is in fluid communication with the pump chamber by the medium to be pumped.

  • Patent number: 5435705
Abstract: A drive apparatus for a wobble plate machine includes a transport chamber having at least two side walls. A wobble plate is disposed in the transport chamber and abuts at least one of the side walls to form a seal and to divide the transport chamber into two mutually independent transport chambers. A wobble plate shaft is connected to the wobble plate to move the wobble plate about a wobble point. A drive shaft is drivingly connected to the wobble plate shaft. The wobble plate shaft is disposed at an angle with respect to the drive shaft. The connection between the drive shaft and the wobble plate shaft is moveable by a spring so that the angle may vary to a largest possible angle. The spring is supported by the wobble plate shaft and the drive shaft.
