  • Publication number: 20220406055
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining groundwater levels based upon crop classification are provided. A set of aerial images are collected via satellite, manned aircraft or drones. They are filtered by a time domain, and a sufficiently high-resolution image is selected. If there isn't an image with sufficient resolution, a series of lower resolution images may be combined to generate a ‘fused’ image suitable for analysis. The image is then subjected to pre-processing. Crop boundaries within the image are determined, and areas outside of the crop boundary are masked off. The resulting image is subjected to a sliding window algorithm to generate discrete “patches” of the image suitable for analysis by a trained neural network. The neural network generated a classification for the crop. This data may be combined with surface water data, precipitation data, and weather pattern data to determine groundwater levels.

  • Patent number: 11263574
Abstract: An electronic newsletter distribution system useful in association with a water agency management platform provides information exchange for administering groundwater extraction rights in one or more trading-zones. The platform matches offers to trade utilization of groundwater extraction rights (GWRs), and intermediates transfers of the matched GWRs based one or more transfer rules. The system also facilitates trading of “sell order” and “buy order” in response to the water pricing and water offering information.

  • Publication number: 20170270454
Abstract: A water agency management platform (WAMP) optimizes groundwater sustainable yield in a groundwater basin. The WAMP takes into consideration sustainable groundwater yield and monitor groundwater utilization in the groundwater basin. The WAMP models changes to the groundwater utilization with a goal of optimizing groundwater sustainable yield in the groundwater basin, and makes recommendations to stakeholder(s).

  • Publication number: 20170270624
Abstract: A groundwater consumption imputation engine computes groundwater consumed by a property based on imputation factors such as evapotranspiration data, meteorological and weather data, irrigation type, soil type, soil moisture and salinity, surface water delivered, channel loss, property size and percentage cultivated. Evapotranspiration data can include evapotranspiration data for a specific crop in a specific geographical region associated with the property, planting density of the specific crop, total planted area for the specific crop, area of dormant land in the property, and crop maturity.

  • Publication number: 20170270622
Abstract: A Water Agency Management Platform (WAMP) sustainably manages water resources including groundwater extraction rights. The WAMP includes a Water Rights Registry Facilitator (WRRF), a Transfer & Market Facilitator, and a Groundwater Management Agency Formation Facilitator. The WRRF can form a virtual groundwater management agency by combining and/or fragmenting at least one of data, functions and responsibilities of a subset of water management agencies within a groundwater management area.
