  • Patent number: 12039789
Abstract: A system and method for detecting seatbelt positioning includes capturing, by a camera, a near infrared (NIR) image of an occupant, applying a median filter to the NIR image to remove glints; converting the NIR image to a black-and-white image, scanning across the black-and-white (B/W) image to detect a plurality of transitions between black and white segments corresponding to stripes extending lengthwise along a length of the seatbelt, and using detections of the plurality of transitions to indicate a detection of the seatbelt. Converting the NIR image to the black-and-white image may include using a localized binary threshold to determine whether a given pixel in the B/W image should be black or white based on whether a corresponding source pixel within the NIR image is brighter than an average of nearby pixels within a predetermined distance of the corresponding source pixel.

  • Publication number: 20230331064
Abstract: A cooling device for, for example, a cooling object has a refrigerant circuit with an evaporator, in which a cold air flow for the cooling object exchanges heat with the refrigerant, and a defrosting system for de-icing the evaporator. The defrosting system is controlled according to the degree of icing of the evaporator. The degree of icing of the evaporator is determined by the control unit of the defrosting system on the basis of the temperature of the cold air flow from the cooling object to the evaporator, the temperature and/or the operating pressure of the refrigerant upstream of the evaporator and at least one operating parameter of the compressor.

  • Publication number: 20220266445
Abstract: A framework for self-assembly of workcells includes analyzing multiple constraints to determine configuration and movement of mobile robots and/or one or more robotic devices in the performance of workflows. The framework includes multiple elements that model a deployment and transportation strategy in a rules engine for identifying and allocating available workcell resources, and generates configuration schemes and pathway topologies that govern the self-assembly of workcells and execution of workflows using such workcells. The framework is applicable to single or multi-robot configurations, and enables self-assembly of each workcell in a single path or in multiple paths. The framework is further applicable to multiple item processing scenarios, such as round robin processing, batch processing, or both, and accounts for multiple handling and processing actions.

  • Patent number: 11375296
Abstract: A method of providing customized interaction of a media player based on metadata obtained from an origin server. In one step, the origin server obtains metadata related to an active substream content. The media player is provided a playlist for playing a primary video stream. The playlist includes a request for the metadata, the request being associated with the insertion of the active substream content in the playback of the primary video stream. The origin server receives the request for the metadata from the media player. The origin server inserts the active substream content and metadata segments into the primary video stream. A secondary video stream is obtained after insertion of the active substream content. The origin server provides the metadata to the media player using a metadata storage and a metadata service. The media player customizes the interaction using the metadata during playback of the secondary video stream.

  • Patent number: 11155226
Abstract: A system and method for calibrating a vision system includes a selective wavelength interactive material located within the cabin of the vehicle and a control system in communication with the camera. The material is arranged as a pattern having pattern elements configured to reflect or absorb infrared light from an infrared light source. The control system is configured compare a captured image from the vision system that shows the pattern elements and calibrate the vision system based on a comparison of the captured image. Additionally or alternatively, the selective wavelength interactive material is disposed on a surface of a safety belt and the control system is configured to determine that an occupant seated in a seat is wearing a safety belt associated with the seat when the captured images show that the selective wavelength interactive material on the surface of the safety belt extending across the occupant seated.
