  • Publication number: 20030069855
Abstract: The invention concerns a Process and a control server for supporting the charging of services that are provided to a service user by a service server. A service request message from a terminal of the service user, requesting a service, is transmitted via a communication network to the service server. The service request message and one or more replies from the service server sent out on the service request message are routed via a control server. The control server carries out a procedure for the authentication of the service user and, using the result of the procedure, determines whether or not the charging of services requested by the service user is supported by the control server. The control server checks whether the reply from the service server contains an identification code, that classifies the requested service as chargeable.

  • Patent number: 6486867
Abstract: There is known a telecommunication terminal with a miniature display for received, visually perceptible information, such as, for example, fax messages. In addition, a device is known for projecting computer images or TV images, the device comprising a so-called DMD chip (Digital Mirror Device). It is proposed to improve the aforedescribed telecommunication terminal (MS) by providing the terminal with projection means (DMD, FL) which can basically only be used for the device described above. In addition, the device described above is improved by being provided with an interface circuit for connection to a telecommunication terminal. Accordingly, the conventional means known in the field of computer technology and TV technology for projecting images are now used in or for a telecommunication terminal, especially in a mobile radio telephone (MS). With the received image data, images can be projected directly onto a projection screen, for example, onto a wall. Several people can view the images simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 5794195
Abstract: During speech recognition of words, a precise and strong detection of start/end points of the words must be ensured, even in very noisy surroundings. Use of a feature with noise-resistant properties is shown wherein for a feature vector, a function of the signal energy is formed as the first feature and a function of the quadratic difference of an LPC (Linear-Predictive-Coding) cepstrum coefficient as a second feature. A check quantity or a maximum function of a distribution function is calculated, which detects the start/end points by comparison with a threshold.

  • Patent number: 5499318
Abstract: A method and an apparatus provide safe access control without the need for supplementary devices. By entering audible words or sounds during a playing of a text of a recorded announcement, a first personal access code based on both the audible uttering and the timing of the audible uttering is generated and stored for authorized users. Subsequently, a second personal access code is generated in the same way when access is sought by a subsequent user seeking access to the facility. The second personal access code is compared with the first personal access code. If the codes correspond in both terms of the audible uttering and the timing of the audible uttering, access is permitted. High security is provided which prevents unauthorized use. The apparatus has a low cost and a low complexity, because no supplementary devices are necessary.

  • Patent number: 5483578
Abstract: A method of managing a speech memory (VMEM) and an assembly therefor are disclosed. To enable a plurality of users (U1, U2, U3, U4) to access the speech memory, the latter is divided into user memory areas (S1, S2, S3, S4) and a common memory area (SALL). By adding a portion (S4') of the common memory area (SALL) to one of the user memory areas (S4') or vice versa, the size of this user memory area is adapted to the memory space requirements (Min4) of the user (U4). The capacity of the speech memory (VMEM) is effectively utilized, since, as far as possible, no free memory space is assigned to the users (U1 to U4) which will not be used by them. The assembly can be used, for example, as a voice mailbox in a telecommunications system.

  • Patent number: 4943911
Abstract: A secondary computer is connected to a primary computer via a shared memory. The initial program loader for the secondary computer is stored in a mass memory of the primary computer rather than in a bootstrap memory. The primary computer loads the initial program loader into the shared memory, sends a restart instruction to a central processing unit of the secondary computer, and then controls a memory access logic circuit such that all program memory access instruction are routed to that portion of the shared memory holding the initial program loader until the secondary computer has read out the last instruction of the initial program loader. The central processing unit then sends to the memory access logic circuit an acknowledge signal which causes the latter to route all further program memory access instructions to a program memory of the secondary computer.
