  • Publication number: 20240117768
Abstract: A rotary component for a gas turbine engine includes a plurality of rotor blades operably coupled to a rotating shaft extending along the central axis and an outer casing arranged exterior to the plurality of rotor blades in a radial direction of the gas turbine engine. The outer casing defines a gap between a blade tip of each of the plurality of rotor blades and the outer casing. The outer casing includes a plurality of features formed into an interior surface thereof. Each of the plurality of features includes one or more design parameters that are perturbed about a mean design parameter for stall performance so as to provide a circumferential variation in wake strengths associated with the plurality of rotor blades, thereby reducing operational noise of the gas turbine engine.

  • Publication number: 20240105177
Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to a local assistant system responding to voice input using an ear-wearable device. The system detects a wake-up signal and receives a first voice input communicating a first query content. The system includes speech recognition circuitry to determine the first query content, speech generation circuitry, and an input database of locally-handled user inputs. If the first audio input matches one of the locally-handled user inputs, then the system takes a local responsive action. If the first audio input does not match one of the locally-handled user inputs, then the system transmits at least a portion of the first query content over a wireless network to a network resource.

  • Publication number: 20240098198
Abstract: An image-reading device, such as optical code readers used in retail environments to scan objects, is configured to select from various operational modes. The operational modes are selected based on an application of the image-reading device, such as optical code identification or image recognition. Red, white, and other color light sources are activated in patterns corresponding to an illumination sequence of the selected operational mode, while imagers are activated to capture an image based on an exposure pattern of the selected operational mode. Further, a repeating series of light pulses having different portions of light is provided. Various imagers are configured to capture images over one of the portions. This allows an operator to perceive one continuous light pattern, yet allows various imagers to capture an image under different light conditions used for different applications of the image-reading device.

  • Patent number: 11930100
Abstract: An approach is disclosed for running a first smart contract on a first blockchain platform which restricts access to a client's funds appropriated to a second smart contract running on a second blockchain platform. A transaction is received by invoking the first smart contract authorizing the second smart contract. In response to receiving an indication of a successful completion of the first smart contract, a plurality of client's authorization tickets are sent to the second smart contract which restricts access to the client's funds appropriated to the second smart contract running on the second blockchain platform. The invoked smart contract receives the set of authorization information and records the set of authorization information. After receiving a set of authenticated authorization tickets exceeding a predetermined threshold, the funds are atomically eliminated on the first blockchain platform and a converted funds generated on the second blockchain platform.
