  • Publication number: 20240418898
Abstract: Systems and methods for electromagnetic induction include a first electrically conducting loop including multiple lengths of electrically conductive tubing, each length of electrically conductive tubing at least partially composed of a first electrically conducting composite material with a specific conductivity higher than aluminum, the plurality of lengths of electrically conductive tubing being connected to form a rigid closed loop having a perimeter of 3 meters or more. A second electrically conducting loop is electrically isolated from the first electrically conducting loop. A control module includes a signal generator in electrical communication with the first electrically conducting loop and configured to vary a current in the first electrically conducting loop to periodically apply an excitation magnetic field to a volume proximate to the first electrically conducting loop and to detect, using the second electrically conducting loop, changes in a magnetic field generated by a substance in the volume.

  • Patent number: 12151268
Abstract: Methods and systems for device maintenance are described herein. Objects, such as pills, tablets, capsules, etc., may build an electrostatic charge as they pass through a dispensing device. This electrostatic charge may cause the objects to adhere to components of the dispensing device, such as inside a tube, chamber, etc. To prevent this from happening, the dispensing device may comprise an ionizing component, such as a fan, that may be configured to perform a maintenance procedure. The maintenance procedure may allow the objects to pass through various components of the dispensing device more freely.

  • Patent number: 11861263
Abstract: This specification is generally directed to techniques for robust natural language (NL) based control of computer applications. In many implementations, the NL control is at least selectively interactive in that the user feedback input is solicited, and received, in resolving action(s), resolving action set(s), generating domain specific knowledge, and/or in providing feedback on implemented action set(s). The user feedback input can be utilized in further training of machine learning model(s) utilized in the NL based control of the computer applications.

  • Publication number: 20170159129
Abstract: Presented herein are methods for detecting the activity of alternative lengthening of telomeres, a telomere maintenance mechanism, by measuring relative G-rich and C-rich telomere DNA in a sample. Detection of ALT activity is accomplished with fluorescent probes that recognize G-strand and C-strand telomeric sequences, and fluorescent in-situ hybridization is used to measure the amounts of G-strand and C-strand DNA in a sample cell. The amounts of G-rich and C-rich telomere sequence in the sample cell is determined, relative to the same sequences in a standard, which may be a characterized cell line or a synthetic standard, such as a microbead with telomeric DNA attached.

  • Publication number: 20170128917
Abstract: Nanoparticles comprising a core including transition metal carbide, nitride, phosphide, sulfide, or boride and a noble metal shell can be made by transforming metal oxide core/noble metal shell materials coated in a ceramic material in a controlled environment. The noble metal shell can be a single monolayer. The self-assembly of metal carbide nanoparticles coated with atomically-thin noble metal monolayers results in a highly active, stable, and tunable catalytic platform.

  • Patent number: 9298691
Abstract: A system can receive raw log data from log-producing devices. The system can parse the raw log data to generate parsed log data, including extracting fields from the raw log data, generating structured query language (SQL) statements from the extracted fields, and inserting the SQL statements in a database. The system can summarize the parsed log data, including identifying one or more SQL statements based on fields of commonality and fields of uniqueness, and creating summarized data that include a new statement condensed from the identified SQL statements. The system can then generate a report based on the summarized data.

  • Publication number: 20150154352
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for massively parallel genetic analysis of single cells in emulsions or droplets. A biological sample is divided into subsamples of single cells or cell supbopulations, and a fusion complex is formed by molecular linkage and amplification techniques. Methods, apparatuses, and systems are provided for high-throughput, massively parallel analysis of the subsamples. These methods integrate molecular, algorithmic, and engineering approaches. They have broad and useful application in a number of biological and medical fields, including immunology, noninvasive prenatal diagnosis, and noninvasive cancer diagnosis.

  • Patent number: 8903836
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed which enables network administrators and the like to quickly analyze the data produced by log-producing devices such as network firewalls and routers. Unlike systems of the prior art, the system disclosed herein automatically parses and summarizes log data before inserting it into one or more databases. This greatly reduces the volume of data stored in the database and permits database queries to be run and reports generated while many types of attempted breaches of network security are still in progress. Database maintenance may also be accomplished automatically by the system to delete or archive old log data.

  • Patent number: 8262885
Abstract: Dielectrophoretic (DEP) tweezers apparatus and methods for various applications, including particle trapping. Two electrodes are disposed on or otherwise constitute an elongated object forming a tip. A voltage is applied across these electrodes to produce a non-uniform electromagnetic field proximate to the tip thereby creating a dielectrophoretic trap. Once trapped, a particle may be moved to desired locations via manipulation of the elongated object or the medium in which the particle is located. Multiple DEP tweezers apparatus may be arranged to form arrays of tips capable of respectively generating local electromagnetic fields confined to the tips. Such DEP arrays may be employed in nanofabrication processes involving nanolithography or nano-manipulation, as well as data storage and retrieval applications.
