  • Patent number: 4694705
Abstract: A motion-transmitting remote assembly (10) of the type for transmitting motion in a curved path including a tube member (14) and a rod member (18) movably supported by the tube member (14) and extending therefrom to provide a variable extending length of the rod member (18) between the tube member (14) and one end (68) of the rod member (18), the rod member (18) defining a line of force. An integral terminal member (20) operatively interconnects the extending length of the rod member (18) and a control member (22). The assembly is characterized by the terminal member (22) including an opening (38) therethrough defining an axis perpendicular to the line of force and having a containing portion for containing a body portion (32) of the control member (22) therein and a retaining portion for retaining a ball pin (36) extending from the body portion (32) of the control member (22) therein.

  • Patent number: 4458552
Abstract: A motion transmitting remote control assembly (10) of the type for transmitting forces along a curved path by a motion transmitting core element includes a conduit (14), a motion transmitting core element (12) movably supported by the conduit (14), and a support fitting (16) for supporting the conduit (14) through an aperture (18) of a support structure (20). The support fitting (16) includes a body portion (22) and an integral radially extending abutment (24) extending from the body portion (22) for abutting one extremity of the aperture (18). The support fitting (16) further includes a second integral abutment comprising a pair of stubs (26) extending from the body portion (22) and formed by the body portion having had a pair of legs (28) extending therefrom broken off.

  • Patent number: 4325904
Abstract: A method of making a motion transmitting remote control assembly of the type including a conduit with an end fitting of organic polymeric material disposed on one end of the conduit and a motion transmitting core element extending through the conduit and end fitting with the core element connected to a rod movably supported in a bore in a sleeve having a male swivel portion with a partial convex spherical surface extending from its intersection with the exterior of the sleeve to a lip defined by its intersection with the bore and pivotally supported in a female swivel portion having a partial concave spherical surface.

  • Patent number: 4238107
Abstract: A motion transmitting remote control assembly of the type for transmitting motion in a curved path by a flexible motion transmitting core element and the method and assembly for making same. A sleeve has a second end with a male swivel portion having a partial convex spherical surface. The convex spherical surface extends from its intersection with the circular exterior of the sleeve to a lip defined by the intersection of the surface with the bore in the sleeve at the second end of the sleeve. The end fitting includes a female swivel portion having a partial concave spherical surface for receiving and supporting the male swivel portion whereby the sleeve may pivot in different directions from a neutral position. The concave surface has a first extremity engaging the convex surface and is spaced from the intersection of the convex surface and the exterior of the sleeve when the sleeve is in the neutral position.
