Patent number: 11480209Abstract: A deformable tapping plate can include a central member including at least two mounting openings and a mounting surface wherein the mounting surface defines a mounting plane. The deformable tapping plate can also include a first attachment pad located adjacent a first end of the central member that is connected to the central member by a first connecting arm. The first attachment pad includes a first attachment surface defining an attachment plane. The first connecting arm can include a first arched portion that projects away from both the mounting plane and the attachment plane and can include a first narrowed apex having a thickness that is less than a thickness of adjacent portions of the first arched portion.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2020Date of Patent: October 25, 2022Assignee: Newfrey LLCInventors: Adam A. Forti, Thomas J. Lerch, Raymond M. Genick, II

Patent number: 7669883Abstract: An airbag installation fastener includes first and second fastener members connected by a hinge member. The first and second fastener members rotate from a fastener open condition to engage each other in a fastener closed position. The fastener closed position provides for an air bag member positioned between the first and second fastener members. The first and second fastener members have an aperture receiving a vehicle connected stud to support both the airbag installation fastener and the air bag member from the stud. An arm extending from the second fastener member rotates with respect to the second fastener member. The arm extends from the second fastener member in the fastener closed condition and both engages the second fastener member and abuts the stud to visually indicate a fastener completed installation condition.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 2008Date of Patent: March 2, 2010Assignee: Newfrey LLCInventors: Joshua J. Giddings, Patricia E. Patt, Terri L. Wernert, Thomas J. Lerch, Carl Lesser, Wolfgang Werner, Siegfried Lautner

Patent number: 4888843Abstract: Apparatus for mounting a pad to a rotary floor machine includes an internally threaded drive collar mounted in coaxial relation with a drive shaft. The teeth of the thread on the collar have a sawtooth profile with an inclined lead-in surface and a holding surface. A retainer member in the form of a flanged collar has a cylindrical insert with a plurality of tabs capable of flexing inwardly. The flex tabs are spaced about the insert and have external thread segments, the teeth of which also have a sawtooth profile, for matching engagement with the internal threads of the drive collar. The retainer insert is assembled by pushing it into the drive collar. The lead-in surfaces of the matching threads cam the flex tabs inwardly during assembly so that the sawtooth threads ride over one another. The radial holding surfaces engage to provide substantial holding force for the center of the pad which is clamped between the flanges of the drive collar and the retainer member.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 1988Date of Patent: December 26, 1989Assignee: Hako Minuteman, Inc.Inventors: Ronald J.
