  • Publication number: 20240163092
Abstract: Stacked integrated circuit devices, chip packages and methods for operating a chip package are described herein that provide an increased level of backside protection from physical attacks that could compromise confidentiality or authentication of the integrated circuit device. In one example, a chip stack includes a sacrificial integrated circuit (IC) die stacked with a primary IC die. The sacrificial IC die includes a first split key information source. The primary IC die has security circuitry configured to generate an encryption key based at least in part on first split key information transmitted from the sacrificial IC die across a die-to-die interface to the primary IC die. Separation of the dies to probe or modify of the primary IC die would cause the destruction of split key information required to operate the functional circuitry of the primary IC die.

  • Publication number: 20240118318
Abstract: A system and method for determining an open or closed position of a magnetically actuated vacuum interrupter. The method includes applying a voltage signal of a known voltage to the actuator over a predetermined period and determining a change in current over time during the period when the voltage signal is applied to the actuator using an output of a Rogowski coil. The method also includes calculating the inductance using the voltage and the change in current over time at a predetermined time during the period and using the calculated inductance to determine whether the actuator and thus the vacuum interrupter are in the open or closed position.

  • Patent number: 8032328
Abstract: The invention provides a novel method of monitoring a process. The method also has the ability to take predetermined actions based on the monitored data. These actions avoid or mitigate process abnormalities or upsets that might impact product quality, production, and/or process efficiencies. The method includes the steps of: obtaining at least one input process variable; determining a comparative process value based on the at least one input process variable using a first method having a first time-based weighting function; determining an expected process value based on the at least one input process variable using a second method having a second time-based weighting function; determining a first deviation value based on the at least one input process variable or historical data; calculating a limit range having a maximum limit and a minimum limit using the expected process value and the first deviation value; and comparing the comparative process value to the limit range.

  • Patent number: 5371145
Abstract: A process comprising continuously contacting with a catalyst, under polymerization conditions, ethylene or a mixture comprising ethylene and one or more alpha-olefins in a first fluidized bed reactor and a mixture comprising ethylene and one or more alpha-olefins in a second fluidized bed reactor, the first and second reactors being connected in series, said catalyst comprising:(A) a catalyst precursor comprising:(i) a vanadium compound, which is the reaction product of(a) VX.sub.3 wherein each X is independently chlorine, bromine, or iodine; and(b) an electron donor, which is a liquid, organic Lewis base in which VX.sub.3 is soluble;(ii) a modifier having the formula BX.sub.3 or AlR.sub.(3-a) wherein each X is as defined above; each R is independently alkyl having 1 to 14 carbon atoms; and a is 1 or 2; and(iii) a silica or alumina support for said vanadium compound and modifier;(B) a cocatalyst having the formula AlR.sub.3 wherein R is as defined above; and(C) a promoter having the formula R'.sub.b CX'.sub.

  • Patent number: 4803251
Abstract: A method for reducing sheeting during polymerization of alpha-olefins by feeding either a positive charge generating or negative charge generating chemical additive to the reactor responsive to particular static levels in the reactor. The chemical additive is added in amounts which neutralize the charges in the reactor.
