  • Patent number: 5089160
Abstract: A packaged aerosol preparation is provided for use in removing lint, hair and other particulate matter from fabrics. The sprayable liquid composition is packaged in a valve-equipped aerosol container. The composition includes an acrylic polymer or copolymer resin, a tackifier or plasticizer, and a liquified propellant consisting of either dimethyl ether or a mixture of dimethyl ether with a hydrocarbon propellant. The composition can be applied to absorbent substrates such as paper towels to provide an effective, disposable removal device.

  • Patent number: 4990192
Abstract: A novel method is provided for removing lint, hair, and other particulate matter from fabric articles such as clothing, upholstery, or draperies. A sprayable aerosol adhesive composition is applied to flexible sheet material, such as a paper towel, so as to splatter the surface of the sheet with tacky adherent globules of a tackified or plasticized resin without forming a continuous coating on the surface. The sprayed surface of the sheet is ready within 60 seconds for contacting with the fabric from which the particulate matter is to be removed.

  • Patent number: 4381792
Abstract: Various surfaces are polished by buffing with compositions comprising a foamed polymeric material and a finely divided abrasive material. The abrasive material has a particle size number and a valley abrasion number the product of which falls within a predetermined range sufficient to provide good polishing upon buffing. Such compositions can be fashioned into articles of manufacture which are capable of buffing various surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4296764
Abstract: A process for the waving or straightening of hair by treating with an alkaline bisulphite and or sulfite preparation followed by neutralizing with hydrogen peroxide is improved by using an aqueous neutralizing solution in which the hydrogen peroxide is present in a concentration of from 0.65 to 3.4% by weight and proportional to the concentration by weight of available sulfur dioxide in the waving/straightening solution used prior to neutralization. The process avoids certain disadvantages associated with the prior art.
