Patent number: 11201908Abstract: A method of transferring data includes connecting a mobile device to each of a plurality of network devices at separate respective times and via a respective network connection for each network device. Each of the network devices is connected to a separate respective logical computing network. The method also includes transferring a different respective portion of a data file from the mobile device to each respective network device via the respective network connection and storing the respective portion of the data file on the respective logical computing network. The method further includes disconnecting the mobile device from each respective network connection before connecting to any other one of the network devices. It is also contemplated that the method can account for instances where disconnection of the mobile device from a network device results in incomplete or corrupt transfer of data.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 2015Date of Patent: December 14, 2021Assignee: Seon Design (USA) Corp.Inventor: Thomas J. Predmore, II

Patent number: 10979662Abstract: A method and system for inhibiting shutdown of a mobile data recorder of a mobile digital audio/video recording (MDVR) system in a vehicle while a download is active. The method including identifying if a data download is currently in process and the vehicle is in an OFF powered state and ascertaining if at least one of whether the data download is complete, and a data network connection for conducting the download is not available, and executing a shutdown of the MDVR system. Otherwise, inhibiting shut down of the MDVR system, determining if a selected condition for maintaining the inhibiting is false and executing a shutdown of the MDVR system, and repeating the ascertaining, inhibiting, and determining.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2018Date of Patent: April 13, 2021Assignee: SEON DESIGN (USA) CORP.Inventor: Thomas J. Patent number: 9800842Abstract: A method for controlling video in a system includes receiving wirelessly at a stationary base station a low quality video from a mobile device, the mobile device configured to record both the low quality video and a high quality video of a same video stream, to store each of the low quality video and the high quality video, and to wirelessly transmit only the low quality video. The method includes analyzing the low quality video at the stationary base station and, based on the analysis, transmitting a signal to the mobile device to delete the low quality video and the high quality video from the mobile device, to allow overwrite of the low quality video and the high quality video from the mobile device, or to request transmission of the high quality video from the mobile device.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 2014Date of Patent: October 24, 2017Assignee: UTC FIRE & SECURITY CORPORATIONInventor: Thomas J. Predmore, II

Patent number: 9679609Abstract: A method for cataloguing audio-visual data including indexing a plurality of audio-visual segments by specifying a storage location and recording time of each segment. A segment hierarchy is created based on the locations and times of each recording. The plurality of audio-visual segments can be recorded with a mobile digital video recorder onto a removable medium located within a vehicle such that the mobile digital video recorder can identify the vehicle in which the removable medium is located in while recording each segment.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 2015Date of Patent: June 13, 2017Assignee: UTC Fire & Security CorporationInventors: Thomas J.
